“Would have given 5 star for room if there had been good coffee. Also at breakfast no outstanding coffee even though the food was amazing. The dinner we had was one of the best we've ever had. The location is stunning. Some of the staff were grumpy at breakfast time but maybe because it's peak season and very busy for them.”

“This was the local pub to where we were staying. The food was brilliant and the matching service to go with.Nothing was too much trouble, and they kept on asking if everything was okay and wanted more drinks.They didn't have onion rings on the menu but I really wanted some with my steak, straight they said yes and made some fresh ones, which was perfect (non of these processed one)I was so full when I left.Food & drinks: Good food and service . I'd say maybe £2 or so more than other places of same quality and service.”

“There were two parts to this trip to Derwentwater with HF holidays. Excellent: The location, right in the edge of Derwentwater, the staff, the guided walks and our deluxe room were all excellent. Extremely poor: The evening meals, after long days walking, were extremely disappointing. The total package was £2600 per couple. The evening meals were more like school dinners than what you would expect from this kind of organisation. Even the guests we took with us commented the same.”

“Turned up for a pint in the back bar drawn in by the prospect of karaoke on a Sunday 9pm. Ended up eating, getting a room and having a wicked time. Staff played me at pool while I waited for a mate. Made me feel welcome. Great atmosphere.Room was really nice and clean. They even gave me an early breakfast as I had to leave for work.Definitely visit again.Rooms: Really comfy and spacious. Worth the money.Food & drinks: I had burger my friend had lasagne. Both really nice good portion size.Breakfast was delicious with a good menu.”

“Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The staff, particularly Dan and Jean made our stay so comfortable. Mum has some mobility issues and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Service was exceptional. Rooms clean and functional. Food and wine lovely. We had breakfast every day which was yummy. They made us a travel pack when we had to leave early on our last day. Great location near everything.Food & drinks: Excellent breakfast options. Dinner was also great. They serve dinner Wed-Sun.”
