“Beautiful place overlooking the lake and mountains stunning scenery.The manor is decorated and furnished to a very high standard and has a very welcoming atmosphere.The menu has something for everyone, and the food is excellent.The bar is very well stocked too.The staff are fantastic, everyone is friendly, and helpful.There are no negatives with this place at all.We were there for a 70th birthday, and it was a very memorable enjoyable trip.Everything about this place is just perfect.”

“Overall our stay was good. But it was very warm when we stayed (highs ~24C) and since there is no AC and the unit is located on the top floor and only had 2 small windows, the room was VERY WARM and stuffy pretty much our entire stay. I know it's not common to have AC in the UK and it was unseasonable warm, but as an American, it was pretty uncomfortable. They provide a very small fan but it really doesn't do much. Also note there are no elevators so you'll have to carry your bags up 1 or 2 flights of stairs (they did offer to help though). Also, if you go in the front door, there is a few stairs and gravel, so you have to carry your bags there too. Now the positives are it was a very convenient location. The bathroom/shower were very nice and the bed was comfortable. Also, breakfast was very good and filling. I appreciated that they basically let you customize the breakfast to get what you want, but they didn't understand my request for hot sauce :) We stayed in room 21 and I'll post pictures of our view so you know what you're getting.”

“There were two parts to this trip to Derwentwater with HF holidays. Excellent: The location, right in the edge of Derwentwater, the staff, the guided walks and our deluxe room were all excellent. Extremely poor: The evening meals, after long days walking, were extremely disappointing. The total package was £2600 per couple. The evening meals were more like school dinners than what you would expect from this kind of organisation. Even the guests we took with us commented the same.”

“Our room was very clean with White Company toiletries. It’s right in the centre of Keswick town with nearby parking . Vanda the manageress was absolutely AMAZING !!!! From the time we arrived , always smiling , attentive and went the extra mile to arrange a takeaway breakfast , because we left early one morning. The food is also very good turning up hot and quickly . Cerys was also very friendly, great at her job and showed our Cockapoo lots of love , which she loved . A great stay and hope to see you soon Vanda & Cerys”

“Wandered in seeking a Sunday roast and was the best I've had in years (and I eat a lot of roast dinners...)Beautiful decor and warm friendly service. Quieter than the bustling pubs around which was perfect for us.The beef was thick cut and cooked perfectly pink and soft. Delicious Yorkshire pudding with lots of gravy to soak up. The creamiest mash and lush mix of fresh / roasted veg.Delicious. Thanks. Highly recommend.My friend had the fish finger sandwich and looked great, very tasty salad and fries with it.”

“Decent hotel with good breakfast. Good for Cumbria Way as its right on the trail. Unfortunately very limited car park- maybe 3 places very tight. Parking generally around Keswick is a nightmare.Walkability: Right on Cumbria Way trail.”

“Rooms are dated and are starting to show this. It was pleasant enough, booked a room with a lake view and was not let down. Tbe view was fantastic. The hotel could really do with some renovations or even some TLC to improve the building. Lots of areas show signs of damn in hallways, pieces of wall and ceiling missing etc. Food service at the bar was excellent, very good and the gentleman on reception was absolutely fantastic. Overall, needs some work doing but we have a pleasant stay.Noteworthy details: Hotel has a path leading right down to the lake, fantastic access and brilliant views.”
