“Where to begin? Cragwood was the second venue we saw and we were instantly blown away. It combines the perfect lakeland country house feel with lakeside views, beautiful rooms and a classy main hall where the ceremony, wedding breakfast and celebrations could take place. Hannah, our wedding coordinator, was a constant source of knowledge, answering every silly question we had. She was able to accommodate all our personalised requests for the day and ensured all the hard work for the day was done well in advance to help run smoothly (alongside her amazing team!). On the day, the venue was perfect in the autumnal colourings and would have suited whatever the weather. The transitions between events on the day were seamless with several people commenting on how efficient the team were! The timings of the day were kept to and the whole day went off without a hitch. The bar staff did an amazing job keeping people in good spirits and keeping the happy couple well hydrated! We particularly loved that they had several packages suited to different budgets. Overall, it was a spectacular venue to get married at and we would highly recommend both the venue and the staff! Special thanks to Hannah, Beth, Daniel and Melissa for helping the day (and night) go so smoothly!”

The food was excellent, very refined especially the lamb.
The soup was very tasty.
Downside would be their wine by the glass list, the options were too simple.”

“Our second stay at gilpin , booked 3rd before leaving .An absolutely magical experienceThe staff are amazing , they go above and beyond ,they cannot do enough for you , The gilpin experience is like no other.Spa is a mustMichelin star restaurant, source at gilpin, meal was outstanding with the wine pairing .Spice on the grounds of gilpin is a fabulous resturaunt also, would recommend staying at least two nights to experience both restaurants, from breakfast , afternoon tea , lunch , even the sandwiches ,if you are a foodie, your taste buds will be dancing .The rooms are amazing,you I'm sure like us you will want to try them all ?”
