“Usual premier inn standard. Hotel budget, clean and friendly. No air con- which you are aware of before booking- and our room didn't drop below 24 degrees even during the night in May. Made our nights uncomfortable. Used as a base for a family with teenage child exploration of Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales. Plenty of free parking. Nothing around it but well located for motorways. Disappointed in the Beefeater next door. Food was good at all meal times but the wait times could be horrendous- cooked breakfast order was taken at 9.40am (not buffet here) and didn't arrive with us until 10.30 whilst everyone being repeatedly told 'sorry about your wait it will only be a few more minutes'. At 10.30 when the food arrived drinks machines were promptly shut down and other items cleared away. Staff generally friendly in the restaurant but looking harassed and tetchy at times- Is this a symptom of Whitbreads constant cutbacks with staff? Sympathies to the staff if so.”
