“Exceptionally clean. Polite and friendly staff. We only had breakfast here. Likely one of the best bacon sandwiches I've ever had with the bonus of them adding in a slice of black pudding at my request, french toast the second morning which was also excellent.”

“Hosts are externally welcoming and accommodating. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy. Breakfast was great.

Highly recommend this as a great place to stay in a bit so large, but large enough city on the east coast of Scotland”

“Good food and staff. They need to invest in a bug killing light though for the summer as pub had lots of flies in it but it's just the time of year unfortunately.”

“The Ship in Stonehaven never disappoints. No matter where else we go, we always end up saying, “It’s just not as good as The Ship!” The staff are fantastic, the value is excellent, and it’s dog-friendly too – what more could you want? Always a pleasure to visit.”

“The location on the promenade and the staff make this hotel. A big thank you goes to Gill and Caroline from housekeeping who were very helpful. Also, Natasha in the bar/restaurant she was run off her feet in the evening but kept smiling and was very polite and helpful. We would also like to mention the lady at breakfast, her name I didn’t get. She was also run off her feet but was really cheery and polite. Nothing was too much for any of them. Bar had good selection of drinks. Owner needs to consider employing more staff in the summer. The room was on the small side and bathroom needs a towel rail, there is no where to hang or dry them. Towels always damp. Owner also needs to consider opening up the lounge upstairs, which had been refurbished but remained closed. There is nowhere to sit to read a book or enjoy a drink except for busy bar. We need somewhere to relax other than the room. Location means it is easy to walk from harbour to past open air swimming pool, near Cowie.”
