Lodging in Burford, Oxfordshire

“We had an evening meal but not an overnight stay.Food excellent and service exceptional. We were even made aware of the optional service charge and told that it was optional…. So many places these days with mediocre or no service levels just add that charge as standard , so this was a very pleasant change. They deserved every penny of their service charge. Would most certainly return.Food & drinks: Great good.”

“We popped into the lovely little Cotswold town of Burford again,having been here many times before.....It was around lunch time so we decided to go into the Priory Tea rooms for our refreshments.....It's not a very big place inside but we were lucky enough to get a window side table.........We ordered our food and drinks ,without having to wait long as the service was excellent from the lovely friendly and welcoming staff.....When the food arrived I must say it was a very large portion and well worth the money,that being the chilly and cheese jacket potatoes which were very nice, personally I would have liked a bit of butter on the potato before the filling but that's just me,it was still very enjoyable.......As with all the buildings in this sweet little Cotswold town it was lovely and quaint inside,a great place to pop into if feeling peckish.....?”

“Great hotel we had a quirky room in the eaves but it was full of character. Staff were very attentive without being over the top. Thoroughly recommend staying here and a great breakfast too.”

“Great location, nice building with friendly helpful staff, cozy room with all the usual stuff. Comfy bed, nice shower, plenty to do in a 10 minutes drive, my one and only disappointment was the breakfast, the quality was amazing but the "full" English didn't live up to its name. I wasn't full. 1 amazing sausage, 1 bacon, 1 egg, 1 mushroom, half a slice of black pudding, half a slice of tomato, and a tiny bowl of beans.I would definitely return and can highly recommend. (Just fill up on toast or cereal first)”

“A delightful night's stay.Dinner was exceptional and the reasonably priced bottle of red, delicious.The staff were very welcoming, accommodating and friendly.Breakfast came with plenty of options and was good.The room was comfortable but a little on the tired side, especially the shower room.I would be very happy to return.”

“The rooms need updating, the bathroom was full of mould - but otherwise the room was clean. Sadly on the second floor for a family booking, but we made it work.Staff all very friendly, location is great (Starbucks outside and the town is amazing) so overall a great hotel.”

“Beautiful roast dinner with friends - I had the pork and LOVED all the trimmings... Big bowl of roast potatoes... Hearty bowl of cauliflower cheese... And lashings of gravy. Yum. My only criticism is that there wasn't much pork on the pork as it was so fatty, but otherwise, superb. Thanks guys - will see you soon!”
