Lodging in Ripon, North Yorkshire

“We attended a wedding in October. The building has a fabulous character with wooden floors and unique decorations that includes a plane hanging from the ceiling. The service was excellent from the booking to the next morning's breakfast. The staff were serving with a smile, nothing was too much trouble, even though they worked continuously with a new staff member as well. The food was really good, well presented and the serving well organised. We both worked in hospitality for over 20 years, and even given the challenges of the building, housekeeping has done a fantastic job too! I could not fault a thing. Even in the busiest times they had a smile and time for a chat. Some of the rooms overlook the Cathedral. I can definitely recommend The Old Deanery, and we will be back. Thank you for your hard work!Rooms: Some has garden views some overlooks the cathedral. Very clean, lots of mirrors.Walkability: Found the stairs a bit challenging, but just took it slow.”

“Called in a couple of weeks ago to look at mattresses. It was lovely to be left to look at the range without being hassled or pressurised into a purchase. When we did have questions, the staff were very knowledgeable about their products. Ordering was easy, and once the mattress was available they were more than happy to hold on to it until we could take delivery. The delivery team were great ..... it's not easy manoeuvring the mattress up our stairs but they accepted the challenge in good humour even if there was a few good natured grumbles! Mattress looks great. Looking forward to no more aches and pains each morning.Definitely would use again”

“So pleased to find a local pub that provided real options for vegetarian, dairy and gluten free. The sticky toffee pudding was particularly delicious. The nut roast was tasty and moist and came with a generous portion of vegetables.”

“Great service both in store and delivery. The Harrogate store really looked after us with choosing the right bed and talking us through the deals and aftercare.Delivery drivers were polite and managed to shift an extremely heavy mattress up the stairs in our flat in under a minute (no idea how, took me 15 mins to move the old one!).Only thing to bare in mind is delivery times start from 7am - our half hour courtesy call was at 6.30am and delivery just after 7am so make sure you're up!Will definitely buy from Bensons in Harrogate again when we require a new one.”

“Stayed here a few times now location is great for races, classic car shows heritage sites and the cathedral etc. rooms are good size and always clean with plenty of water coffee hot chocolate and biscuits on offer and to top it off the pub is just down stairs win win!”
