“The pluses.. the staff were all lovely and very accommodating, and the food is excellent. The bed was really comfortable & the room was clean. I think the minuses are beyond the control of the management/staff as the hotel really needs a refurb in that the stair carpet has holes in it and the ceiling paper in the dining room is falling off and the carpets need a good shampoo. One of our couples booked through buy a gift & the other on booking.com The buy a gift voucher did not show the mobile number (and we didn’t check the 2nd booking ) so we waited at the hotel for an hour before we could get in despite it stating we could get in at 2pm. We rang the hotel number but no answer. A good stay but the rooms are tired, but as I say staff are lovely.”

“Was very apprehensive after reading previous reviews but think these people must have gone to a different place to us. Rooms were nice and clean, food great and lovely scenery. No complaints from us.”

“Stayed here a few times now location is great for races, classic car shows heritage sites and the cathedral etc. rooms are good size and always clean with plenty of water coffee hot chocolate and biscuits on offer and to top it off the pub is just down stairs win win!”
