“Best Sunday lunch ever. We were a party of 5 and two well behaved dogs and they accommodated us in a little snug area, so it felt like a private dining experience. The staff were so lovely, friendly and very good at their jobs, food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.”

“We had past the Queen's Head, numerous times on our holiday, thinking it was closed, well do not be fooled. We finally visited on our last night and by get out of the car and going in, we found out it was amazing and open, as it has been all the time. It has a lovely seating area out the back which we didn't realise. Well the staff were very friendly, the food amazing and atmosphere great. In away good job we had triggered it was open, otherwise we would have been there every night. Thanks to the staff for making our last night very memorable and should we be up that way again.”

“Just great. Beautiful house and garden in calm rural location, amazing and comfortable room (also huge) with thoughtful and kind little touches, lovely host Vanessa who also gave us great ideas about what to do and super breakfast. All four of us were full of praise.

Rooms: Our room was really great, huge, airy, with tea, coffee, and lovely touches - a scone with jam and cream, and two small bottles of wine ! Really thoughtful. Bed was comfortable.

Food and drinks: Breakfast was great.”

“Stayed here around the time of a wedding at Jervaulx Abbey. 11 of our family stayed. The rooms were good. It was very hot weather and the hotel kindly lent us fans. The breakfasts were beautifully cooked. We had a meal in a private dining room the night before the wedding. The food was delicious. The staff were excellent. The village is very pretty. We will come to stay here again.”

“Stayed over for one night, rooms really comfortable, beds comfy. Very warm. Breakfast was huge, great choice of buffet style and cooked. Ask for smaller portions if you don't eat much, haha”

“We came for a meal on Sunday evening for our wedding anniversary and it was faultless! The service was world class I’ve never felt more welcome and valued. Rabbit watching was a bonus from the window overlooking the garden. The sharing Camembert was glorious and very generously sized! Hubby said the steak pie was the best of his life and he’s hard to please. Lemon tart ❤️ heaven! Thank you for having us Dan & Paula ( elephant dress lady!)”
