“Our first visit here, chosen for my husband's birthday as we were staying in the area. And it had great reviews. We weren't disappointed! Absolutely outstanding food, quality was superb, staff friendly and attentive, lovely atmosphere (esp given it was a Monday evening). Will definitely come again when we are in the area.”

“Advocate call in on the way back from Wales. Good little pub with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Four of us had the Sunday dinner there each picking different meats ( beef, lamb and Turkey) and all very good meals. Would we come again.... Yes !”

“First time we have been. Stopped on the touring area. Caravan X2 adults X2 dogs. Fantastic site. Lovely little village nearby with a community shop that sold most everyday items. Toilets/ showers very clean. Landry on site but didn't use. Pitches hard standing, grass cut regularly. Dog wash available. Dogs had an enclosed field that they could be off lead in they loved it.Would definitely recommend this site.”

“Well, it's not exactly a destination pub. It is, however, a genuinely historic building that has been a town centre inn for centuries. Gives out an air of struggling good will, with perpetually low stock but massively helpful staff.

Pleasing patio area out the back - and WHAT A PLAYLIST! Tonight was a seamless mix of little-known bluesy, moody, jazzy numbers that kept us going to Shazam for more info. Don't know who compiled it, but props for the choices!

We come here for regular catch-ups, mainly for the central location and also for the low-key, no-hassle welcome. Expect little and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
