“A fantastic find. Unassuming exterior but once the through the door the interiors were buzzing. A step back in time. Fantastic atmosphere, the food was some of the best pub food we've ever had and the service was excellent, so friendly.”

“Recently had my babyshower held down in “the Vault” at The Swan Hotel. The private space was great for hosting all my friends and family. It was an Afternoon Tea spread and WOW the food was INCREDIBLE!!! I would highly recommend to anyone wanting an afternoon tea!!! The staff were fab as well from start to finish!! “Had a wonderful couple of days. Everyone was so polite from reception, bar, breakfast and housekeeping staff. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back. Delicious food from a small menu for dinner. Breakfast very relaxed with plenty of choice. This is a photo I took from the dinner table I was sat at.”

“Although I did not stay. I parked my car. Logged it in at the terminal so I could have free parking ? and had a few drinks awaiting my grandchildren.... a week later, I got a parking ticket for £100 for a 30 min wait. The parking company would not confirm they checked the terminal for my details! So I was going to appeal but checked with Holliday Inn first to see if they had any way of checking for evidence. A member of staff called Sam contacted me and said that my parking tickets would be cancelled ... you do not get help like that much these days .. thank you Sam”

“Worth visiting for the ambience alone. But you will also love a pot of tea , lovely breads, and breakfast items. Definitely use the restroom while here, surprisingly lovely as well.”

“Stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent location, basic rooms and friendly receptionist. Can't fault it, met our needs and it was more than perfect for us.Wish parking was included but Chesil Car park sorted us for £7.70 for 24h.”

“Nice hotel right in the middle of Winchester, close to everything. Great base from which to see the city. Very good breakfast, ate dinner elsewhere. Small bar. We arrived early and room was ready but had we arrived later car park would have been full, so be warned! Parking costs £15 a day. Function suite and private dining rooms.”

“Excellent service, very welcoming staff. Our room #28 was spacious and very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and the Full English was delicious. The bar was extremely well stocked and a great atmosphere. A very nice hotel indeed Not sure what the (unopened) tin of mackerel under the window was for, maybe to feed the swan ??‍♂️?”

“First time back in several years. After reading the recent reviews did not know what to expect. The Marwell did not disappoint. Lovely clean rooms, comfy bed, use of swimming pool and sauna which was much needed. Breakfast cooked fresh to order and very tasty indeed. Staff very helpful and friendly. Beautiful woodland setting and such value for money. Would definitely recommend.Rooms: Up to date decor. Clean and extremely adequate. Spacious.Nearby activities: Great location for all nearby activities as well of course Marwell zoo.Food & drinks: Great food and drink and very good value for moneyNoteworthy details: On site free car parking. Rooms can get quite warm, but patio doors opening to balcony”
