“Big Waitrose with a good range, friendly staff and lots of free parking. They also have a good amount of self checkouts too allow you to pop in and get on with your day. Can’t say fairer than that”

“Compact store but like the modern freezers with sloping doors. Good range of both frozen and general food and household products. Definitely likely to be going back again.”

“Great little convenience store, running under the Londis umbrella. A little cramped but it carries all the basics. Awkward parking if you have mobility problems, as the outside service road is always busy and the nearest public car parking is behind the ASDA supermarket. But friendly and welcoming staff and reasonable prices.Recommended.”

“Brought pizza & other bits including a free sky deal which I was more concentrating on , whilst doing this I forgot to use my Nectar card which would of saved me about £8 .
I went back to the shop & explained this to a lady on customer service (Stacey) , she was excellent !!!!!! , went back through my receipt with me & sorted out what I'd forgotten to do .
This young lady deserves top marks for customer service .

“Very convenient being not to far away, most goods value for money and pleasant Staff... 2 years later the Prices have risen a lot quicker than anyone's income, when will it stop?!”

“This store is in the heart of Bitterne. In size it is bigger than a 'local' but smaller than a superstore, like Portswood or Hedge End. This means that some products are just not stocked, especially larger sizes. Having said that, it is possible to do your weekly shop and there is a decent selection of fresh produce.

The store can have very long queues for the self service checkouts and there are very few where you can interact with a person. Often the queues are shorter at the front of the store as most people want to go out to the car park.

Speaking of parking, there is a large free car park at the back of the store. The local council have said it will be 'pay & display' soon. This will probably kill the vulnerable town centre as I suspect many people will go to other centres nearby.”

“On my way back to Portsmouth one day we stopped in and bought some vapes in flavours I've only ever seen in this store. I chatted to the owner and he now orders the vales in specially for me as no where else can get them and I'll drive out just to go here. Good service like that is hard to find”

“There are some really good offers on products with short shelf life.If you're not planning to have a weekly shop and in open minded mood about your meal today or tomorrow - this shop will help to save considerably.As for meat & fish - as of late... you most likely won't get any, or it will be roughly the same price as anywhere else.There are some products which actually are more expensive, than equivalent in any other shop.”

“Always a queue, whether you use a till or self scan, I only shop here when I have plenty of time. Food is good value and you never know what you might need from the centre aisles!”

“More range of branded and Iceland own brand products in this store than the other Iceland stores in Southampton. A wide range of pet food also if you like soft drinks you can get it here and usually good offers on at times. Only downside there is only 1 till open and if you need help,it's hard to find a member of staff to help you. Music is sometimes loud and by the time I've finished shopping I walk away with a headache. Plenty of parking available but not very good to access the store if you have to rely on buses to get around and is a 15 minute walk to the nearest bus stop.”

“Had everything I needed unlike the one in west quay retail park. They didn't even have a trolley the manager said they only had 10 trolleys. There was already 4 people waiting for one. So back to one in Shirley from now on.”

“Used this store tonight and was so impressed with a member of staff named Josh . I saw him confront a lad who he thought had shop lifted a drink, when the lad explained he had purchased it earlier he magnanimously apologised for his error. He then served me and when I explained I didn’t have my club card on me he asked the customer behind me if we could scan his card otherwise I’d be paying £10 for my wine rather than £8 if I’d had my card.It’s really refreshing to see a young man with such loyalty to his employer, integrity when he’s able to admit he was wrong and customer service in going that bit further than he had to. “Welcoming friendly staff, exceptionally clean and comfortable and within access to anywhere in the London area. Off-street parking. Breakfast on-site or within walking distance of Waitrose cafe and other shops. We always look forward to our next visit.”

“Almost identical in layout to other stores in the chain so easy to navigate around the aisles. Centre aisles at the rear cater for budget household and DIY items. Frozen and chilled goods are also located at the back of the store. Keep an eye on sizes, as the prices may be lower than expected because the volume is less. Good selection of continental foods on offer. Plenty of free parking outside with a large number of coin access trolleys.”

“well now!!! it's very handy for me!!! i just live a few metres down the road into salcombe road!!! opening times are fantastic very early all week long!!! and i have looked out my window at times to see how true it is and yes they are!!! can add up a touch more expensive for a full basket with them but budgeting ultra carefully and knowing it's just a few things it can save lots of walking off at odd hours!!! the shop management are asians but keeping your cool about that business is business yeah!!!???!!! they're like the only ones left for my barrs bubblegum fizzy large bottles than relying online orders with amazon dot com so i don't want to blow my custom with them thanks!!! we also buy the happy shopper mansize tissue boxes with them and my bill payer gets his newspapers for him and his critically unwell sister lots of the time before he drives off to her!!!”

“It's a really neat little shop that has a very nice variety of all kinds of confectionery and drinks that makes thos placeva godsend to all the locals who live in the area, regardless I like to come in merely to get my walking in and the staff are always very welcoming too, even if I don't feel up to responding and am suffering from exposure to the sun.

Only negative is that it is a little cramped, but that's to be expected considering the variety and having all the essentials too so it isn't that negative.”
