“It’s a Lidl, can be very busy but the abundance of self checkouts makes any waiting minimal. Decent but not always adequate bike storage, could do with more, the ones by the entrance are unfortunately badly laid out.”

“All the 1 star reviews are a bit unfair just due to the one rude bloke who is often behind the till (who yes is quiet and stand-off-ish). All the other staff, particularly the chatty man with glasses however, are helpful and friendly. Bit pricey but so is everywhere else around here. Decent selection of beers too!”

“This is a great shop, they have a really wide selection of niche food products and the staff are really nice. It's also no more expensive than any of the other places of Chatsworth Road and they have a load of bits discounted with short dates on them which is welcome.”

“It's not my idea of a lovely and family friendly trip to the shop (there are all the other posh overpriced shops literally everywhere else in Hackney for that), and I would avoid this place during busy times (lunch, after work on weekdays), BUT it is somewhere I can still afford to buy more than one sad vegetable, their "world food" section is great and affordable too and they even have a "free from" section that has decent bread.
The assistants are doing their best given how much they're paid and what a stressful environment the supermarket is. When they're rude but still help me with what I need, I just don't take it personally, I'm not a child ??♥️
It is sad to see so many beggars outside, but that has more to say about our society than the quality of the shop.
I don't know where else to go that has decent prices these days so I hope they can invest in Tesco's working conditions and standards in the future, but for now I don't have complaints. [The pigeon story is very fk sad tho]”
