“I hadn't visited a physical bank branch in quite some time, but I recently stopped by the Santander branch in Brighton and was really impressed by the warmth and helpfulness of the staff. From the lady who approached me while I was in the queue to the gentleman behind the counter, everyone was so friendly and eager to assist. I also appreciated how patient and considerate they were with an elderly customer next to me—it was great to see such excellent service!”

“I had to sort out my account here today. It was not a straightforward piece of business, but Violet was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, professional and friendly as well. She was superb and deserves to be commended on her customer service. A very big 'thank you' to her for the way she dealt with us.”

“If getting a M\\u0026S own drink i.e. smoothie or fruit juices, be aware that they charge the same price for the 250ml bottles as the large 750ml !!! Save your money!!!”

“I have banked with this bank for many years and was recently contacted by Isabella, a member of staff at the Brighton branch to review my accounts. She was very friendly, but professional. She guided me patiently through the various current and savings account options without being pushy and I am very happy with the choices I made. I had to phone her back as I had a query and it was so nice to phone on a landline which was answered by a person straight away, without having to go through all the automated options first. I am an older person and remember that this is how business used to be done a very long time ago. Thank you.”

“Pleasant staff... 1yr ago! However, recently, I was served, a few times by the same person, and found them stuffy, and abrupt... Far from polite! I had one call regarding my complaint, then no follow up. I believe the guys name was Ranyan(operator 1,on the receipt!), who virtually grunted, and barked at me, causing me consternation. I felt like I had interrupted his dinner, or something?!! Very poor customer skills! I don't care now, as I don't go back there.”

“Want to leave this review specifically for the assistance one of the managers, Jonathan, offered us today with opening a bank account. I believe he was covering from another branch outside of Brighton but he was very polite, patient and guided us through the application carefully. Even though high street banking is somewhat dying that human touch is still essential at times.”

“I had to return my Amazon parcel which involved dealing with customer service.
Lesley, (I think that was her name) was the only customer service member of staff at that time.

Lesley's professionalism stood out, even in a busy environment with a long queue.
She demonstrated in-depth knowledge of her role and the issues she was dealing with.
Her courtesy and pleasant demeanor were notable, even when dealing with agitated customers. Lesley handled a variety of complex issues efficiently. She remained organized and composed under pressure.
Asda should be so pleased and proud to have her as a member of their front facing staff.”

“This is a great supermarket, with an excellent fruit and vegetable section, cheese section, and a great bread section, full of lovely fresh loafs, bagels, buns and cakes. The rest of the store is as you'd expect, being full of everything you could possibly want, all of a good quality and price.”

“Between the Preston Circus end of London Road and Patcham, there's a couple of small shops, meaning that in that whole distance the only real food shop is the Sainsbury Local who pull that immoral con of knowing they're the only option, they add 20% onto prices - case in point, a litre of milk was £1.65 yesterday, and at the New England road Sainsbury's it cost £1.25, but i digress....Sometimes, Sainsbury's isn't open and waiting until the morning just isn't an option, there's a quiet local option that's not always front and centre of your mental list. Sure, the prices are a bit high, and between 11pm and 7am all transactions happen via the cashiers window, the 24hr Shell garage has been doing it's thing for years. I t's also got a fancy Costa coffee machine, a fee free cash point and there's a big bright yellow row of Amazon delivery lockers called Samir.”

“My first taste of Co-operative Food came through the Union Shop on the University of Sussex campus. They sell a variety of Co-op groceries, but I mainly went for the pre-packaged sandwiches for lunch breaks. The actual shop on Lewes Road provides quite a feel-good shopping experience - as a customer, you're supporting the environmental, fair trade and community-focused standards of the Co-op. Yay! And, it's not as expensive as 'ethical' usually suggests. There's always a sale on some random group of items, making it worth stocking up. At the moment, a few cereals are only £1, and The Cooperative brand rice and sauces are also really cheap. Produce always looks nice and fresh (and local), which is a nice treat, and is also reasonably priced. Although the selection is smaller than nearby Sainsbury's, there's more of a community atmosphere here, and I'd recommend trying it out if you live nearby.”
