“Have just stayed for 3 nights at The Belmont, Sidmouth (10-12th Sept) and had a very nice time. However I did just mention to the reception staff that my husband was celebrating his 80th birthday on 12 Sept and although I wouldn't have expected a fuss I did think it would have been a nice gesture for them to have perhaps just given him a drink on the house with his dinner on his special day, but nothing. Very disappointed. Mrs J Chinnick”
“A family run hotel, the host was very welcoming, spending time to take us around the hotel, with explanation. A unique idea of an 'honesty bar' treated as an adult, even having an actual room & front door key! Room was well presented, modern on suite & car parking spaces on site.
Walking distance to the sea front.
Would recommend this as how bygone age hotels used to be. You can even pay in cash!”
“Friendly inn in a cute small village. The rooms are basic but clean. The shower is quite small and weak, it ran out of hot water quite quickly. Breakfast was a generous full fry up, but removing a star because we were disappointed with the quality of some of ingredients (eg cheap sausages). No parking but there’s the village hall car park a 5 min walk away.”
“If you like service of a bygone era, you will like this place. It is very sedate and traditional. It is very clean and presentable
Rooms: Clean and comfortable”
“A lovely short break in Sidmouth. After an initial issue we were moved to a lovely courtyard room with a balcony. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and they really made our stay enjoyable. Breakfast is wonderful, with both continental and cooked breakfast options available. The spa is nice, although it could do with a little TLC. The views from the outdoor pool terrace are lovely. Would recommend.”
“Had a wonderful holiday with Blake's Coaches.
Rooms: All rooms are clean with a nice shower. TV. Comfortable beds.
Nearby activities: Right in the middle of York town, there are many attractions that you can walk to.
Walkability: Nice walks around York or can take the open top bus.
Food & drinks: Eateries everywhere and many pubs.”
