“The Punch Bowl Inn is a charming spot with delicious food and very good service. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and they even provide coloring sheets for children, which is a nice detail.

The children’s menus are homemade and carefully prepared, and everything we tried was excellent. The cheese soufflé was outstanding, and the cheesecake was just as delicious.

It’s definitely worth the detour. Highly recommended!”

“Shopping for a mattress / bed frame can be confusing. BUT, at Bensons Kendal their friendly and knowledgeable service made the process easy from discussion to delivery. So much so, I’ve been back to purchase more mattresses as the quality and comfort have been exceptional. Who doesn’t LOVE a good nights sleep! Thank you Sue and Michael.”

“Had my flooring done in LVT throughout most of my flat... Couldn't be happier. Turned up on time, did the job, nice people! Such a professional job. I went into the shop to pay the balance and ended up buying a new armchair! Omg! So comfy! I can't afford to go in there again! Thank you Home Designs, so pleased!”

“Whilst the room (HARE) was adequate for a couple of nights it needs a few tweaks as follows. The room is hot needs a fan yes you can open the window but road / traffic noise becomes an issue. Plug sockets at least 4 doubles maybe change one for one that has USB charger would be handy. The bathroom whilst very nice could do with some extra additions , robe hooks on the wall / door, a shelf to put wash/ toiletries bag on rather than the floor, anti slip bath mat is essential we had to put one of the hand towels in the bath to prevent my wife from slipping plus a grab rail would be a really good addition if possible. And the shower is not the best it runs off of a mixer tap so pressure is not great and runs hot and cold . These little things would make a huge difference. With reference to our slippery bath as soon as we raised the concern a brand new non slip bath mat was supplied the same day so top marks for that thankyou so despite a couple of minor niggles we would 100% stay again”

“Good old fashioned service at its best. Nothing was too much trouble both in store and deliveries. Most pleasant experience would have no trouble recommending to family and friends.”

“We stayed at Lyth Valley Country House for a self-catered trip with 17 people, and it was perfect! Phil was incredibly accommodating and friendly, making us feel right at home. The rooms are finished to a high spec with super-comfy beds, and the views are breathtaking from every angle. It’s an ideal place to rent for a private event or group getaway. I’ll definitely be telling my friends!”

Had evening meal again staff could not do enough for us felt really welcome and food was delicious. “My daughter and I had a very beautiful meal in the restaurant the hotel is stunning and so friendly all staff went up and above to make our experience special. Food was delicious well presented and every thing complimented each other also great usage of herbs fresh from the herb garden. “I came here in a busy season which was maybe a mistake. The food had an hour wait although we had been warned about this as there was a problem in the kitchen so that was ok (also it is not normally like this). Despite that, the beer and food was lovely. I had the pie which is quite expensive compared to others but still lovely. The staff were very friendly and offered us free crisps due to the long wait. Would recommend.”

Safety: No problems.

Walkability: 10 minutes easy walk to the railway station. 2 minutes to the bus station and a minute into town.

Food and drinks: The Meal Deal is very good value.
The breakfast buffet and evening menu were both excellent.

Noteworthy details: This was our third stay at the Premier Inn Kendal in the last 6 months and we've really enjoyed each stay and will be back again later in the year.
Every member of staff we have been in contact with or met have been top class.
We would like to mention Beth in the Restaurant at breakfast, and Jade and Meghan in the Restaurant in the evening for their fantastic service, enthusiasm and work ethic. Nothing is too much trouble to these young people. They are a credit to themselves and the business.”

“Short weekend stay at the Kendal travel lodge and big rooms for me and the wife to move around and have a lovely sexy weekend away, , all room were clean and tidy and very easy to check in and out, , will definitely be staying again”
