From Eskdale Mill
Eskdale Mill is the oldest working water corn mill in the Lake District National Park. Find out how oats, barley and wheat was produced and milled in Boot village and the Eskdale valley from 1500's until 1930's using only the power of water.
A truly remarkable step back in time, the mill hosts a complex of intimate Grade II* listed buildings complete with original waterwheels and water-powered machinery. Other features include the modern hydro-electric wheel, interactive exhibitions and self guided tours for people of all ages and abilities.
Set within a small woodland area next to Whillan Beck this is a relaxing, interesting and fun environment for all the family.
The complex includes scenic picnic areas, gardens and a small gift shop.
