“Great location with lovely views from the restaurant. Food in the restaurant is absolutely superb and the service was really good. Rooms clean. Bed comfy. Gym good. Didn't go to the spa. WiFi good. Would stay here again.”

“My wife and I ate here last night, Oct. Steak meal and also scampi, both were very good and well presented, staff were very polite and meals arrived in a timely manner. Prices were I think a fraction too high but having said that acceptable for the quality. Second time we have visited this establishment, last visit was for Sunday carvery which again was of good quality, we visit Newquay regular and would happily visit the Griffin again.”

“Stayed here for a week for 1 week with our two little boys (18 months) and 3 year old. It was perfectly set up for families. The rooms were spacious (although one slight down side was that we were facing the road which was a bit loud at times). Our room also had a small outdoor space which is handy.Food in all the restaurants was very very good. It’s rare to find a place that has great food in all its eating places so this was really nice. The onsite nursery was EXCELLENT! Our 3 year old was always excited to go. This was one the reasons we booked this place as with kids having that break is essential. The indoor pool/spa were also great. Although a little pricey for the spa but still a nice experience. We managed to squeeze in a trip outside of school holidays, so it wasn’t busy either. I would 100% recommend this place for a holiday in the UK.The beach and bay were great, weather was average - but it’s the UK, so always be prepared for anything.”

“A perfect place for tranquility and sheer beautyWe stayed in the bell tent at the site, it was just perfect. With all the amenities it was like being home from home. We didn’t have to take a thing other than clothes and ourselves. The space was ample for a family of 4. We had a chimney for a fire, with some wood on our arrival and more to purchase from the on site shop.and a gorgeous little welcome gift in the fridge. An allocated parking space, opposite an open field for the children to play. The little bar onsite was amazing for food and drinks, it was our favourite end to the evening with a cosy fire and lovely little touches. Theres a little Itinerary of things on site displayed, from pastries, to story telling. We were made to feel very welcome by Tanya and Tara/Maggie extremely friendly and helpful. The site was super clean, well managed and organised. Cannot fault a single thing. The site is perfectly located to access many attractions, beaches and town. This is our first family holiday to Cornwall and staying here made it perfect, and lots of memories made.I would highly recommend the site for camping and glamping.Rachel,Olly, poppy and Fred!!x”

“I absolutely loved my experience at this breathtaking hotel. The service was top-notch, and my room was absolutely beautiful, well styled and comfortable! The shower was awesome, too! I’m so glad I took the time to enjoy their stunning spa both nights I was there! I also had a blast at the witchy afternoon tea. It fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine to visit the hotel where the movie “The Witches” was filmed. This was a great base to visit Boscastle and Tintagel which were about an hour away. I will be back ?? thank you for the outstanding service!”

“Private beach. Car park is quite expensive but worth it. Visited in October and we were blessed with beautiful weather and it was quiet. Got two coffees and sat and appreciated the beautiful scenery. Guy in the kiosk was very friendly. A wonderful find. Would be amazing for a wedding although steep steps so not ideal if you are disabled or struggle. Ideal for surfing or just relaxing. Lovely inside area.”

“An absolutely amazing hotel that while doesn’t look appealing on the exterior, surprises and greatly exceeds expectations on the insideThe reception staff make your stay as enjoyable as possible while promoting Newquay and suggesting great places to eat and visit. Jade was brilliant along with another female receptionist who recommended going to Whiskers for live music. We were incredibly impressed with the rooms. We were assigned a Superior Coastal room with its own living area. Housekeeping each day made the room up like new and even surprised the teddy with some biscuits! It is not often you can actually credit the housekeeping team in a hotel but they went over and beyondWith it being freezing outside the heating worked perfectly. While some small maintainer issues with the window and the water pressure this did not detract any credit away from the overall stay.Breakfast each morning was delicious and homemade, the breakfast bap, pancakes and full English are highly recommended. A small continental selection complimented the choice well. The restaurant overlooked the beach and we got a great table each day.Dinner in the evening and Sunday carvery was also exquisite and resembled true Cornish food. The menu is the same as The Fort which is also part of the same group down the road which also delivered amazing food with great views (suggestions while there).Overall, absolutely nothing to negatively say, and the hotel along with the staff treated you like true family. Worth every penny. Will recommend to anyone who wishes to visit Newquay.”

“A great little find, we were looking for a carvery went to one place and it had stopped food, so we came here and glad we did, the food is really nice and the quantity and quality of food is just brilliant and nice, beats Toby carvery by miles. We took dessert away as we were all full.Place was really busy but ran really well with how busy it was.Would recommend here to anyone.Wheelchair accessibility: Good ramp at the entrance for accessibility”

“The hotel itself was great and the staff very helpful. The room was one of the biggest I've ever had at a traveloge and it overlooked Great Western beach which was lovely. Unfortunately there is no on-site parking and the nearest car park was very small and I had difficulty getting my car out as the rows were too narrow so it made it difficult to manoeuvre. Shame that Travelodge can't come to an after hours agreement with Aldi to use their carpark when they're closed.”

“Nice cafe bar. Once was a great pub but the closing of the army training camp closed it down. Went for lunch there in September. They seemed to be running out of food as we wanted two fish and chips but only one available so one of us had a fish finger cob. That was the last one available too. But saying that the food was excellent and the customer service was great”

“This is a great store for household, toys, kitchen equipment, clothing and more for adults and children. The stock seems to change often and I’ve grabbed many bargains here that have all been low priced but great quality.”

“Place was lovely and facilities were great. Also the pools were very good and the kids club was fun. Staff were lovely and helpful. Location was good.Food places ie pizza box, scoops and the fish and chip shop shut early which left people without food when we thought we could get from them. Also when going into Newquay to try and have food one night we struggled to get in anywhere. Locals were very unwelcoming, unfriendly and some even said locals only on the door so if you want to go off site I really wouldn’t bother. Was actually very embarrassing and never felt so unwelcome before.”

“We loved our stay. Very grand hotel. The breakfast room has sea views so you can watch the surfers while eating breakfast. There’s a pool, we didn’t use that. The room was traditional, nicely decorated with a very comfy bed. The cleaners do an amazing job, the entire hotel is spotless. Fresh towels and tea bags replenished every day. Staff are all very friendly and go above and beyond to help. Breakfast was the best buffet breakfast I’ve had., everything you could ask for. Vegetarians and vegans are catered for and dogs are allowed. Next time we are in Newquay we will definitely stay here again.”
