I stay often at the Leonardo Swindon for work and have always had a pleasant experience and nice to be somewhere I recognise away from home. However this time I was really disappointed to find that at breakfast hash browns (arguably the best part of a breakfast) have been replaced with boiled new potatoes. I love a new potato... but not for my breakfast. Totally didn't go at all and I really hope this changes back..

Hotel is clean and silent. Nice to stay.But when we stayed we asked if we need to do anything with car park when entering the hotel and they said no. We paid parking in morning and left. A month after we received a fine, of course made an appeal but just because we didnt enter our register on tablet at reception, it declined. Absolutely wrong guidance of the guy at reception. They also very rudely told us they dont have a male receptionist when we called. But it was a man when we stayed in reception. Thanks to him i have yo pay the most expensive parking ever.Rooms: Quiet, tidy and clean.Noteworthy details: Parking is a bit tricky. Needs luck to find a parking space. Also dont trust receptionists and register your car on entry.

Let's start with the good points chronologically. The rooms where clean and the breakfast was lovely, great variety and the staff we spoke to at breakfast were lovely.Bad points chronologically, the parking was not available on site (although this wasn't indicated upon booking) and we had to park in a multi storey, although we where informed we'd be reimbursed the difference upon producing a receipt of parking. Beds are very hard, could do with replacing, the bathroom is in need of updating, and noise could be heard early hours from outside, the room would be as expected otherwise. After breakfast we where ready to leave, and go to our activity for the day, collected our car and returned to collect the others from our party, baggage and the parking reimbursement. To which we where informed the receipt wasn't what they wanted, that was our ticket, that was their policy (as though we should know, we don't work there) we just did as instructed. This caused a delay and frustration at reception, and staff weren't helpful or professional. There are no signs what to do if the carpark is full, or how to attain your reimbursement.We wouldn't stay again or recommend, which is quite unfortunate as this could be a reasonable hotel.Noteworthy details: Parking is very limited on site, you are directed to a multi storey carpark, it is approximately 5-10 mins walk away, wouldn't be any good for people with mobility problems (there wasn't many disabled parking spots). Also you're informed the difference will be reimbursed, but you will find this difficult to attain from the hotel.

If you're unlucky enough to be in Swindon then this is probably the best you'll get. It's adequate, rooms ok, breakfast ok, bar expensive normal for a standard business type hotel. Stay at home if you have the choice.

Hotel needs to ID check people on check-in. Aggressive guy in room next to me playing music all night. Reception came up and did nothing. Said guy was sleeping when you could hear the music and banging around! Might have been his mate. Music and banging continued.Then guy bangs on my door cuz my ironing board fell down and he acted like I kicked his door in. Started getting aggressive on my door step. ID check everyone that stays here so people thinking its £50 and anonymous can act how they want. Travelodge behaviour. Shambles stay at summer house.

Staff were great- they let us check in early and the room was clean and comfortable. Not much directly around the hotel but walkable to the train station and town centre.

Parking is atrocious..biggest regret was booking this hotel after a 13 hour day on site. If you are a tradie or drive a van, give this hotel a wide berth..or this whole general area for that matter

Swindon was a stop off on the way somewhere else. We opted for the Leonardo hotel and despite its ugly surroundings the hotel itself was impressive. You step inside and get transported away from the surroundings and dropped into a touch of class. The hotel was clean, staff were great and breakfast was perfect. If we have to stop off in Swindon again I doubt we'll look elsewhere.
