Fantastic find. Never been before, but always last the signs, so we decided to pop in. Great little shop. Kids loved the play area. We had tea and cake afterwards. It was lovely. Good value for money. Great service. Shout out to two members of staff (two young ladies on front counter and serving). Very helpful. Kind to my youngest. Ignore the naysayers and negative reviews.I would definitely recommend a visit.

Summer 2025 and I have never known wasps like it here. Outside is one thing, you kind of expect it, but they are swarming the inside cafe. On all the cakes, hovering around your food. We had to leave because at one point, like 5 were around my baby who was eating beans. The poor staff looked stressed about them too.
Outdoor area amazing as always though. I'd normally recommend, but if you're a bit of a wimp with wasps like me, I'd avoid currently.

We nipped in today (Saturday lunch) for a cuppa and a cake and to get out of the rain. It was empty, much like the cake cabinet. No scones at all, some over priced, stale chocolate cake and a couple of donuts on plates. Terrible. This place is pretty expensive and low quality food.

I ordered a seasonal fruits and yoghurt and what came was sliced up banana (maybe half a banana), 2 thin slices of orange with the peel on and a few slices of apple and they were sitting on top of a huge dollop of solid greek yoghurt. Not well presented, not apetising and not seasonal fruit. Disappointing.

Lovely food, lovely staff, great service and the kids lunch box was great value, then to the play area for children of all ages. Really good place to take them and the play area is free, really good afternoon out.

We love this place for kids and play and nice items. The food and coffee is fab, my only small gripe is when ordering a vegan breakfast sometimes it will still have egg on it and the subs aren?t always fair (in terms of cost) but everything?s great and the play park is fab!
We have lots of friends in leeds and York and it?s the perfect meeting point

Play area was closed for ?work? (with no sign of any work ongoing) at end on March with the only notice given at the door on arrival causing a wasted journey - and when trying to check if open now there is no one answering the phone (or returning messages), or answering instagram messages.

Disappointed, at 2.30 told kitchen is closed, only available items were in the display fridges, little or nothing available. Coffee at £3.95 served in a paper up, the steak and ale pie was fab, shame nothing offered with it.

The staff are all friendly the food was presented well but was let down because it was cold. I would have given 5 stars but due to the food being cold I give 3

Very poor. Waited 35 mins for breakfast. Luke warm when it came and ours looked quite a lot smaller than other people's, smaller plate etc. Will not return

I visited this cafe with my Daughter and my little 1 yr old Grandson on Saturday 1st June 2024 after we had taken my Grandson to play in the brilliant Arium Children's Playground. What a dismal dark place! I expected it to be really bright and cheerful given it is set up in the Arium which is glass but the cafe has an upstairs and we sat in the downstairs area.Further we ordered Tuna maionnaise and Cucumber sandwiches on malted bread with salad dressing. The sandwiches just had very dry Tuna inside it. I had 1 slice of cucumber, 1 small lettuce leaf and a very small slice of tomato. It was dreadful! My Daughter pointed out it was very expensive too at well over £5.00!I have never felt so let down. I think I expected something a lot classier given the lovely Arium surroundings plus we usually go to Roundhay Park and go to the brilliant cafe /restaurant there which is in a different league altogether! I definitely would not recommend the Arium cafe at Leeds!

Absolutely outrageous prices in the cafe. Paninis £8.50 comprised limp bread and a just about warm filling accompanied by one slice of tomato, one slice of cucumber and a lettuce leaf.Soup at £6.50 served warm, not hot and we had to wait 25.mins for this. We will not return.

Unfortunately the terribly trained, rude, miserable staff in the café let this place down with their lack of professionalism and the operational side, or again, lack thereof, ruins it. It's a shame as I really enjoy visiting The Arium itself, as the outdoor playground is fantastic and the garden centre is well stocked albeit a bit pricey. When I made a complaint about my experience in the café on Facebook messenger (as they didn't answer the phone), I was just given a thumbs up in response and that's it. So here's a thumb up back to you.*EDIT* the manager has now responded and apologised. The thumbs up was a technical error it appears. I do stick to my one star review due to my experience but at least the manager is trying to resolve issues.
