Went in for a bit of wrapping paper upstairs with only 1 self-service checkout and no one on till. An older gentlemen was in front of me and was having issues with his contactless payment. A short haired woman came up and was straight away quite snarky with the man. Was not much help to him at all despite him asking for it. Utter useless. Then when she asked if she can clear the whole order from the self service he said "yes please, so he (me) can go" of which she very bluntly and rudely replied "yes, that's why I asked you in the first place if I could clear the order" and then proceeded to walk off. Being a manager in retail myself and having to help the gentlemen after she decided to walk off, I'd be disgusted by the colleagues behaviour and I would have them no where near customers if that was how she spoke to them. I think she needs a speaking too and asked where her priorities are at. We're all stressed at Christmas and yet most sales assistants and management are still polite and kind. She was not.

Went in to find a magazine, found magazine I wanted. No one was on a till, had to use the self check out that was squished into the corner. Quite hard with a pushchair, boxes around the area on floor which made it worse.

Massive selection of magazines including special intrest issues ...far more than your average newsagent. Self service tills now very helpfull.

Accessibility:\\nHonestly I avoid going in as much as possible because the carpet is clearly very old and it's wonky. It's difficult to go through the store in my wheelchair because the carpet is always throwing me off to the side randomly so I almost hit shelves or other people.\\n\\nThere's a reasonable amount of space between the shelves though and there is a lift which isn't very big and is a bit tight at the door because of displays, but is still usable. If not for the carpet I think it would be pretty good.\\n\\nThe post office area has smooth wooden floors and low down counters with space underneath, but you do need to go through the carpeted area to get there.\\n\\nI've never had any issues with the staff in either WH Smiths or the post office.

£3.75 for a birthday card. Need I say more?Actually I will say more, self service checkout so you don't actually have staff service. Now I don't steal, but somehow I'd still feel ripped off if I stole from WHSmith...

WHSmith store is well stocked and no issue there but the staff and their attitude at the post office is atrocious. No interest in people not helping them.

Very poor treatment of customers. An employee refused to let me buy an item and lied about the age restriction on it because she didn't believe my LEGAL id. When talking to a supervisor, she told me it was my fault I didn't have my passport instead and they don't need to tell the customer at all why they're refusing sale. She also defended the employees lies. WHSmith you do not have a right to treat your customers like garbage especially when they've done nothing wrong. I definitely don't recommend here nor will I ever be buying anything here again.

Staff at WH Smith post office are just plain rude, my Mum went to use the Post office at 5:45 pm as it is the only place to get our electric key top up to be told it closes at 5:30pm but it states on the opening times online it closes at 6pm ! The staff had the shutters half way down and two of them were stood chatting, not once did they acknowledge my Mum standing there. The WH Smith member of staff then rudly told my Mum that it closes at 5:30 ! How are people suposes to get electric topped up when the staff pick what time they are opening and closing. We can't all get there early due to work commitments to then be Sarcastically told "Sorry it's shut". Not good at all, think some customer service training is needed.

Huge store with massive selection of books, stationary, food and everything else you can possibly imagine. Hardly any staff however, literally one girl on the checkout for a supermarket size store the day and time I visited.
