“Laura was my first contact in the opticians, she was cheerful, helpful and very professional in her role. Peter was the optician who carried out my eye test. He too was thoroughly professional, had excellent communication skills and explained everything very well during the eye test. In addition he had a very friendly manner and a good sense of humour”

“I recently went to A1 Eyewear for my latest eye test, and new prescription lenses and contact lenses, after recently moving back to the Wrexham area. I've needed glasses for over 30 years, and have always had regular sight tests every couple of years, but I can honestly say this is the most thorough and personal service I've ever experienced from an optician. The whole team come across as really professional and experienced, but also friendly and relaxed which helps put you at ease. For my sight test itself, nothing was rushed and Huw took the time to really understand more about my individual circumstances, my daily lifestyle, work environment, driving, screen usage etc, to see how my vision could be improved in the optimal way for me. The Optomap 3D eye scan was another level of detail to anything I'd had before, and Huw walked me through the scan images to explain the various parts, and gave me confidence that everything was fine and healthy. Then for the sight test itself, we went back and forth through various small tweaks to the lenses, to really fine tune my prescription, which was very much appreciated. After the sight test, Rachel took the time to talk me through the various lens options. I have quite a strong prescription and astigmatism, and basic/traditional lenses would be very thick. However, there are a wide range of thinner options available at different price points, as well as additional coating option (e.g. blue light filter for screens). It was also my first time to order varifocal lenses, and there are different levels of quality available for that. But Rachel helped me to choose the best option overall to meet my needs, to fit my existing frames, as well as arriving at the optimum thinness and lens quality for the price. My new lenses took a few days to be fitted (which is normal), but when I went to collect them, Jo gave me a very good handover to make sure everything was OK, and to introduce me to my new varifocal lenses. For contact lenses, I've used the same brand of monthly disposable lenses for many years. But technology and materials is always changing, and I was offered a free trial set of contact lenses which are expected to be an improvement. So I'm looking forward to trying those. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the service received and I will definitely be back to A1 Eyewear for my next sight test and additional glasses/lenses.”

“My eye test was efficient and everything explained. I chose varifocals in two styles, 1 pair reactive and the other Polaroid sunglasses. Very pleased with both pair.”

“Once again I simply cannot praise the team at Vision Express Wrexham enough. The optician was incredibly knowledgeable and ensured that my prescription met with my needs. The rest of the team were very professional and provided a lot of advice, including style of frame (I know very little about style!).

Thanks to all.

Shane”
