Asked for a table for 5 the place was empty n she said they don't take large parties. I would hardly call 5 people a large party. We went elsewhere n had a great night

Rude staff who wouldn?t let us book a table, told it would be busy although there was only 2 people in and we wanted to come back in only twenty minutes.
No atmosphere and the lady who apparently was the owner didn?t deserve the custom.
Go down to the fairy falls instead they are welcoming, friendly and a lovely atmosphere.

Came across The Old Ship on a rainy and windy day in North Wales. It's a nice old pub with bags of character.
We had a lovely lunch which exceeded our expectations. Everything freshly cooked from scratch and absolutely delicious!

This was one of the best fish and chips I've ever had - the batter was perfect and flavourful, and the mushy peas were *amazing*. Probably the best mushy peas I've ever had.

We were on route to the Fairies waterfall and spotted this pub not far up the road. It had a very large car park so we parked up and went in for a pint and some lunch. I had the bacon and Brie baguette. It was very tasty and reasonably priced. We then went outside to have a drink in the beer garden, it was lovely and quiet, Could have spent the afternoon there.

Oh my goodness, what a fantastic dinner. I had a huge portion of Shoulder of Lamb and potatoes. Kelly had Pepper beef with chips. All was so yummy and too big of portions for this girl.
I thanked the chef but couldn't finish the lamb. I apologize as we are leaving tomorrow and can't take leftovers.
She understood!!!

Visited during our stay nearby. What a lovely local pub. Log fire going, owner was very friendly and informative. We both had the half shouldet of lamb which was out of this world.
Since called back for a drink and great atmosphere with welcoming locals.

A traditional British pub. Lovely, interesting decore. Friendly staff. Absolutely fantastic food!! Both my partner's and my starter, main and pudding were delicious, which is an inadequate description! If you're in the area, eat here, you won't be disappointed!
Vegetarian options: The bean pot was excellent!
Kid-friendliness: The staff were very friendly and welcoming without being over the top.

Very sad experience here. Had googled dog friendly pub when in betswycoed and it brought me here. Not dog friendly. Or human friendly tbh. Ordered drinks and told I need to sit outside with dog. Not a problem as nice day but then told they are closing at 3. Not aware of what time it was I just checked what time it was with her and she said 2.10 ? so still thought not a problem. Humourlessly said would we be able to have deserts??? lol. No laughter. Just told I?d be able to finish my drinks but the doors would get locked.
I?d would not recommend this place atall. Not very welcoming atall. Left the drinks on the bar and found a fabulous place along the A470. Tal y cafn. Amazing. Overly friendly. And very dog friendly!!!! So the bar girl did us a favour.

THE BEST VEGETABLE SOUP IVE EVER HAD. Tomato and peppers, sounds boring but its not, it was to die for. Very cozy and good prices. WOuld go again. (went twice)

Food was amazing. We had the pie and the lamb in our group and both were fantastic. As for the home made apple and berry crumble pie - it was the best I?d ever had . Thoroughly recommend !

Oldie worldly pub very nice. Worth a visit. Just had pudding as full from breakfast. Half lamb shoulder for £26, been told was belly busting. Next time. Nice beer.
