“Wow, what a stunning little hotel. Lovely relaxed atmosphere led by efficient, helpful staff, and absolutely gorgeous, beautifully presented food that looks as good as it tastes. Immaculate room and beds that felt nigh on perfect. Two minor (and I mean minor) nitpicks - one is the lack of dedicated parking, but not difficult to find a space, if not outside, in the public car park just round the corner. The other was the piercing blue 'off' LED on the heating controls being quite bright when trying to get to sleep. If they are the biggest gripes tho, I hope that shows how good everything else was. A good 4.5 stars - and look forward to next time ?”

“Stopped in for a bite to eat after a long drive and were pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem! Lovely Cosy little bar at the back, dog friendly owners who were a delight to chat with and the food was spot on. Can’t comment on the rooms as we didn’t stay, however the bar was great and the toilets were spotless.Food & drinks: Beautifully home cooked meals, extremely generous portions that came out quick. Clean and well presented.”

“Two of us had a very good three course dinner, with a glass of Welsh red wine in an elegant dining room. The food was excellent, decent helpings (not too big, not to small), prepared to a high standard both as to preparation and presentation. The service was friendly, attentive not intrusive, and we felt well looked after. An enjoyable and memorable evening.”

“This is a great traditional pub with a lovely traditional interior and great service. We sat with our daughter and my in laws in the beer garden. I had the minted lamb burger, my wife the falafel burger and our daughter the chicken goujons. All three were delicious. My in laws also recommended their flatbread pizzas.. The pub also has well kept hand pulled ales on from the Wye Valley Brewery, and Welsh bottled Reverend James from the Cardiff based Brains Brewery. Beer garden has nice views of interesting local architecture, mainly traditional nonconformist Welsh churches.”
