No one there to book us in on arrival, phoned and was told to wait an hour then 3 & half hours later had to find somewhere else to pitch up as they still weren?t back!! Requested a refund of deposit twice and they haven?t returned it to me. A really bad experience!!

Pretty poor site, very run down, appalling facilities, no one on site to deal with issues, no running water on pitches, very unkempt. Tried contacting owners, no reply yet. Left a day early and will never return.Noteworthy details: The only highlight was a walk to the Barmouth estuary.

Ynys Faig camping site is really part of the Transport Museum of Anglesey. The site is behind it, in a well kept grassy area with a gravel driveway to your chosen gravel position. This was not ideal, as it was only the width of the motorhome, and as it rains a lot in Wales, expect to step out into water logged grass. The facilities consist of toilet emptying, and filling up with water, but the waste water drain was not convenient for our motorhome. The one shower was another 'not ideal' room, in need of a big update, which also housed a washing machine seemingly used by the staff of the Museum Cafe. The outside door had frosted glass, so not 'ideal' if you have the light on.However, the museum was quirky, unexpectedly large and fascinating, and you get a good snack in the Cafe. It's quite popular, and gets coach parties. It was very quiet, when it wasn't gale force outside.Newborough is a fairly safe, about half a mile walk away, although there's nothing much there. Further walking will give you a good walk, through a wood, down to the sea, where many vehicles have used a toll road to get down to a large car park.Holyhead is about 35mins by car, and NT Plas Newydd and Sea Zoo are nearby, both reachable by cycle/car.We enjoyed the stay, all staff we met were friendly, but it just needs abit updating.

Myself and my fiancee visited the site for our first trip in our new Motorhome. We were greated by very friendly site owners and were made to feel very welcome. The site was quiet and just round the corner from shops including the chippy that we had to try.Short walk to the beach.100% stay again. Thanks again.

Friendly and welcoming! The site is divided into separate fields which are surrounded by high bushes giving great shelter from the wind and means that you are only sharing a field with a few other campers. There are hard standings and electric hook ups available. The toilet block is clean and the gents has 3 toilets and 2 showers but work is being carried out to increase this to 4 toilets and 3 showers. There is grey a waste point and washing up facilities. The site is almost opposite the mini railway which runs to the end of the peninsula where you can catch the ferry over to Barmouth. The railway station is really close as is a mini mart, off licence, chip shop and a bar and grill. The beach is a short walk and boasts spectacular views whilst staying far less crowded than Barmouth. This is a lovely quiet campsite.Nearby activities: Fairborne mini railway, Fairborne Beach.

The location of the campsite is ideal. Literally 2 mins from a general store, cafes, butchers, chippy. Minature steam railway and only another 2 or three minutes to a pub. Site a little dated but toilets, showers and washing up areas all very clean.Nearby activities: Fairbourne minature steam railway links with small ferry to get you to Barmouth. Quite a novelty. Good walking nearby. Beach very closeby. Pebbles at high tide but good sand at low water.

we came with the tent on sunday around 6pm for one night. there was no one from the staff. We set up where we were comfortable. toilets ok. A bit annoying was the train running every hour from morning to evening and the alarm going off at the road crossing. close to the shop.

Wouldn't go again. Generally scruffy looking long term caravans there. Shower block lighting at night not working. Shower light goes off as soon as you unlatch the door leaving you in darkness.2 showers for the whole camp. No reception when arriving and booking in. £20 for one man tent and motorcycle

Just returned home from 4 nights camping at Ynys Faig, what a lovely site! The owner couldn't have been more kind and helpful, on our arrival he met us and showed us 2 pitches to chose from.On our first night we had high winds and the pegs on our tent kept popping out, the owner of the site came to the rescue and lent us some heavy duty pegs that did the job and kept the tent nice and secure.Shower block was nice and clean, with plenty of hot water. We will definitely be returning to Ynys Faig in the future! I highly recommend it.Nearby activities: Fairbourne Railway is definitely well worth a visitWalkability: Within easy walking distance of local shops, takeaways and the beach

Friendly staff, helpful and a great location 5 mins from the beach and either a short walk to the water crossing over to Barmouth or a 30 min drive. Away from the really "touristy"

Nice little campsite, met by owner, lovely chap who showed us to our pitch & gave us a good tip to get into Barnmouth along the main train line. Facilities okay, bins, water & elsan point all good. Good location close to facilities in Fairbourne.

Loved this campsite. So relaxing. Facilities basic but very clean. Supermarket and cafes a couple of minutes walk away, short walk to beach. Railway station next door for trains to Barmouth, Phwilelli, etc. Would definitely stay here again.
