Well Virgin Money Newcastle is ran by school children who change shifts on the front desk every 15 minutes. 9 times I've had to visit the branch since July 23 to request a new bank card for a current account as the card was lost. I don't luve near and everytime i need money I'm having to go to the branch and each time told the card is definately on its way (originally told 3/5 working days) 6 months later and still waiting. 6 weeks ago I was took into the teachers office and told the bank card WAS on its way and " I SHOULD HAVE PATIENCE" They refused to contact head office as, on "their screens" the card had been ordered and if there was a problem head office would contact me. I asked to speak to the headmaster in charge and was told nobody could do anything as it was being dealt with. So today 13th January 2024 I am closing my account and moving ny money to a more reputable bank. So anybody wishing to join Virgin money I say do so at your own peril.

I lost my bank card and so tried to transfer money to a friend so they could access it for me, when the transfer wouldn?t go through (my bank at fault) I rang customer service and asked what I should do as their stores were also shut. They told me I?d have to wait until Monday to access my money and told me to go to a food bank. Do not use this bank.

Please do not join this bankUseless is an understatement2 days to do a transfer to my sons account !!!!Even at the Newcastle branch we went in and still waiting to do a transfer my this branch to a NatWest account in the UK!!Absolute joke

I have had my account for 50 years first with northern rock and now with virgin I am shocked at not being able to go to counter and withdraw money without having a passport or ID. You get stopped as soon as you go into bank and I find staff very rude which puts my back up I went into bank a few months ago to do a bank transfer which now they have a copy of my passport on my account it still look about 30 minutes to do the staff member had to get another member of staff to check the details over why why why. If I didn?t have so many direct debits I would of cancelled my account a long time ago. I would also like to stress that if you ring the head office in gosforth you wait about an hour in the queue this is really a awful bank and something should be done about the customer service ???

Terrible staff unable to withdraw my money from behind counter as i have no passport or driving licence.I had to use a ATM machine. Marvelous when a machine is better than personal service

All the staff are dressed not in uniform, there rude, made you feel stupid and can?t even get the paper work you needed correct after waiting over a hour in March, having to come back a hour each way to do it again, to be responded by the whole team who all make you feel stupid. When infact it was them who could not do a simple name change:Pleased my Mortgage is not with these people any more. Northern Rock we?re a much better bank

Have been in several times to sort out my cash isa, as I would rather speak to someone in person, but on each occasion have been approached by a large girl who has stopped me speaking to anyone of importance that could help me, today was the final straw I went in and asked if I wanted to transfer my money to another bank/building society, would there be a charge and was blatantly told no.Is this the way to keep your custom? Shame on you I have been a customer for many years.A bank run by immature students with no respect for the mature customers.P.S checkout the rates at Santander,Leeds even the newly opened Skipton across the street!

More excuses up their sleeves than a politician.I tried to open an ISA but the woman at the counter said everything must be done online. I asked for an appointment as I prefer to do things in person but she shook her head and said again how everything must be done online. I looked on the website and it said there were two options to apply - either online or book an appointment with "friendly" in store staff. Avoiding work perhaps?It also took me numerous phone calls and a 6 month wait to open a current account.I understand they want to be seen as a trendy modern bank, but firstly they need to get their fundamentals right.
