I didn't stay in the hotel but we just nipped in for a drink during the day. It was totally empty and the receptionist came to the bar to serve drinks. Shame Church Square has been bought out. Warren Lodge looks very tired and dated, not been refurbished for years. Perhaps the owners are holding out for a better offer from the developers that have bought the rest of the square ????

On the River, but restricted views. Courtyard which if the sun is on it would be lovely. We were part of a large group on St David's day having a pre organised lunch menu. There was another booking on in the front rooms, we were at the back. Only 3 staff looking after the 2 large parties so service was slow. Food was OK, but some people's was overcooked.

Firstly, I cannot comment on the room standards as I haven't stayed here as a Hotel guest. I can say that the location next to the River Thames is good. Shepperton Railway Station is just under a mile away, a 20 minute walk. From there you can get a train into Waterloo Station which stops at Kempton Park Racecourse, Hampton Court and Kingston on the way. It is a reasonable cab ride away from Heathrow Airport. Several attractions can be reached by car within an hour. Now for my personal experience. We booked into the Hotel for both Christmas Day snd Boxing Day lunch. The menus and prices looked reasonable and competitive for the season. A week before BD I received a call from the Hotel saying that the BD menu had been withdrawn and they were only offering the usual restaurant menu. If we wanted the BD menu then we had to go on the 27th Dec as a larger party had changed their booking to this day. As one of us had to return to work on this day, this wasn't suitable. The usual restaurant menu offered nothing appealing for the occasion so, we cancelled that booking. Due to the late notice, we could find no alternative that would suit all members of our party. We turned up for our Christmas Day lunch and were met with a well presented table. Our white wine, although in a bucket with ice, was warm. It hadn't been chilled and so we had to request more ice to try and make it drinkable. Our starters arrived and I was surprised at the paltry portions and the basic ingredients and presentation. When our mains were served, I couldn't believe it was a Christmas dinner served in a Hotel. I spent several years working at a local school snd the canteen staff turned out a better meal at Christmas. There were three brussel sprouts on my plate and no sign of the seasonal side vegetables. These turned up when we had almost finished our meals and were cauliflower and broccoli cheese. At this point, unfortunately, my sister in law fell ill and collapsed in the restaurant. The staff throughout were faultless, both with the service provided and the way that they dealt with our incident. My sister in law came round and as the ambulance was going to take three hours to arrive, my husband took her home. I do recognise that this unforseen and unexpected turn of events proved distressing for the other diners present too. My son and I decided to have our desserts while we waited to be picked up. They were advertised as a 'trio of chocolate desserts' and turned out to be a slice of gateaux with a layer of milk, dark and white chocolate in it. My sis in law's 'pineapple parfait' was placed on the table and it consisted of chunks of pineapple in a glass with broken bits of meringue nest in it and a sprinkling of coconut? In conclusion, this is the reason for my scoring. The front of house staff were marvellous. I hold the chef responsible for withdrawing the BD menu at such late notice, for the unimaginative restaurant menu and for the below par Christmas Day meal. The Warren Lodge is a dated, quirky but valued local Hotel which it would be a shame to lose. I would return, if I am invited to a function there, or to sit on their riverside terrace or in their courtyard, for a drink or afternoon tea on a fine day but I won't be dining there again.

The food was excellent. The staff was very friendly welcoming and helpful. However, the rooms need more TLC ...they are not soundproof. Did not get much sleep cause of a very noisy couple next-

Disappointed with food. Was there for a xmas meal with a walking group.Starter of chicken croquettes was cold.Main roast meal had no stuffing or parsnips. Potatoes were boiled not roasted. Gravey was cold. Cheese was lubbery and mince pies had hardly any filling. Small potions on small plates. This was poor quality food and can't recommend it.Food & drinks: See above

Have ended up staying here twice with work unfortunately, as there were no other options available.Room cleanliness and state of decor and repair was poor (blind broken/missing, white net curtains turned grey/brown, shower with limited flow/pressure, floor in bathroom sloping steeply)Room very noisy due to fans running outside.Parking can be difficult.Only plus side was the lady on reception was very polite.Never again.Noteworthy details: It's close to the Thames, which is handy for an evening walk.

The room served its purpose very well. I was in the UK to get a Visa updated. Breakfast was traditional English Breakfast. I travelled to Walton-on-Thames to get into London quickly.

Chosen for location to Thorpe Park. The room was clean and tidy, quite spacious. The room was tidied up while were out. Very friendly when we arrived. Can't comment on the food as I didn't eat there. Apart from the noise in the morning, this was coming from the Car Park, which is out of the hotels hands, had a very nice visit.

Lovely lady on reception was the only real plus. Hotel and rooms are extremely tired, with lots of damage thought out. Not what you would expect from a 3 star.

Parking was horrific, not necessarily the hotels fault, but couldn't find much parking nearby. Hotel rooms need some TLC. Bathroom was damp and has mould around the bath area. There was a socket by the main bed with its wires hanging out and some rubbish on the floor when I first walked in. TV was tiny. Might stay again, but not out of choice.

Basic room ok for what we needed toilet made a dripping sound and was hard to flush , only issue was first night was not told about te restaurant being shut for a private function, then being woke up at 2! By the same function blaring music shouting and singing with the door to the cottage open !! We had a child with us and a early and late start the next day, went to reception at 3 as had enough and thought if we gave it time they might stop !!, the man offered to move us but at 3 in morning with a child its not really a option ! So he went and told them to turn it down, he did agree it was not fair, they did turn it down but the shouting and singing continued till 4.30 !!! Contact them on booking.com as there was no one around when we left and they never read it !

We held our wedding reception at Warren Lodge back in July. Alison and her team were impeccable throughout the planning process and we could not have asked for a better evening. The food was amazing, the gardens well maintained and terrace absolutely beautiful. We received so many compliments from guests who both stayed in the hotel and visited for the evening on what a gorgeous venue it was, and we couldn?t agree more!Noteworthy details: Gorgeous garden and excellent food

The charm of this Hotel lies in its location right on the Thames and it's past as a celebrity haunt of the 60's ,70's and 80's. My dad was a journalist and interviewed many celebs here back in the day. The likes of Mick Jagger, Barry Mannilow, The Who, Elizabeth Taylor, the cast of Star Wars. They all stayed here. I had the misfortune of being asked to sit on the knee of Gary Glitter here as an 11 year old after dad had finished interviewing him in the oak panelled bar area , the favourite interview spot, it's still there, so also are the club rooms the celebs stayed in that have direct access to the large river terrace. ..lovely piece of history. Apparently it's soon going to be updated. I hope they do it sympathetically and keep the wonderful panelling in the dining area.
