Popped in for just a drink after shopping in Snape Maltings shopping mall.Service was excellent and displayed a large range of drinks. The decor is somewhat severe and out dated now as dark grey/blue walls quickly look cold and unwelcoming, hiding a multitude of dark areas that look unkempt. Probably in subdued lighting at night you can get away with this! But, daytime NO..

Came to snape maltings for the day, thought we'd stop at the pub, the food was very over priced, portion sizes were quite small and the gravy on the roast was far too rich, it's not pub grub it feels more like a £££ restaurant, We both weren't impressed especially for the price. Staff however were very nice and polite. Loads of free parking available

I was horrified to find that the price of a 250ml of Chardonnay has risen from £7.50 to £11.00 when I popped in yesterday for my usual treat after my shopping trip

The food was ok but minimalistic for the price. But the real disappointment was the staff who were so unfriendly and disinterested. The Plough & Sail is promoted as having "exceptional service" but this was anything but. There was no atmosphere and no one came over to check up on us that we were enjoying our meal or came to offer more drinks in the lounge bar after. When we left no one said 'goodbye' or 'thank you for coming'. My wife said goodbye to a member of staff near the exit but she completely ignored us. The staff looked like they just didn't want to be there and showed it !

Yesterday after a horrendous experience with the new Manager at the lovely Blaxhall ship (see December review for same it seems we are by no means the first to suffer My Daughter, Friend and I Fled to The PLOUGH and Sail Where we were made very welcome , had a lovely Lunch ?they made us our favourite Cheesy chips , despite not being on the rather upmarket menu, service was Excellent , Thank you Amy , and the whole pub was , as always, clean warm & welcoming and yesterday there a lovely cosy Christmassy feel on a bleak cold day . Lots of happy customers including some well behaved and friendly dogs Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel valued as Customers .Perfect Highly Reccommended

We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch with extended family over the Easter school holidays. We were a group ranging from 3 to 87 years old, and I can confidently say that the menus cater for everyone. There were a range of dietary requirements within our group, nothing too much trouble, and all catered for easily. All staff members we encountered were wonderful, particularly Alex who I believe to be the owner of the establishment. Thank you to all, Sera, Michael and family

For those who follow a plant based diet for our planet, I had a really tasty Celeriac steak in the Plough and Sail. And it was a lovely setting

A lovely pub/restaurant, they were very busy but still remained friendly and attentive. Food was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

As we did not want to eat at the Ship Inn where we were staying we found this place nearby. A lovely warm welcome (unlike the Ship), and a decent menu with a couple of veggie options (unlike the Ship). Had a pint of the Abbott bitter which was a really good. Wife had the crab from the specials board. Her assessment - fabulous! I had risotto and the pitta bread with homemade humous. Was all very tasty and enjoyable - correct quantities. My wife finished with some stem ginger ice cream which was delicious. Staff and service absolutely top drawer. If we are round here again we would go back.

We always eat at the Plough and Sail if we are in the area because the food is always excellent (we must have eaten here 30+ times and the food is always 10/10), it is great value for money (considering the quality of the food) and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Today we visited for Sunday lunch and had a gorgeous starter of grilled sardines with tomato puree, olive oil croutons and black olive tapenade - superb! Then came an amazingly tender and tasty roast beef - a perfect Sunday lunch. We finished our meals off with a raspberry & chocolate delice and a fantastic sticky toffee pudding with ginger ice cream. The whole meal was superb, to be honest I think we'd have to rate it 11/10! What's more - often we go to restaurants/pubs and have to really hunt through the menu to find anything we fancy eating. At the Plough and Sail today I could have eaten every single thing on the main menu or specials board. Give yourself a treat and visit this fantastic pub - you won't regret it.

Arrived at 1.pm for lunch. Searched menu for any gluten free food. No gluten options available. Ended up with a starter of prawn salad and ice cream. The Plough not for my wife or me thank you.
