Awful experience at bury st edmunds Barclays. They should have never shut down local branches. Self service machine deemed useless as I couldn?t get a large amount of money out. Had to wait for a human to serve me at the counter which took forever? please implement more counter to speak with a human or reopen local branches to ease the branches still open.

Having shut several local branches came in to Bury and was offered a ninety minutes wait to do a simple task that the app refused to do. Worst service in nearly 50 years of being a customer.

Worst experience of my life. After completely the security checks it took them 35 minutes to find my account. Not to mention the 45 minutes I was told I would have to wait to see someone.

Barclays in bury st edmunds is a huge building with only one cashier that only opens from 11am to 2pm. I will be leaving Barclays and advising all of my friends and family to do the same.

Just went to pay in fundraising cash, branch closes at 4.30, I arrive at 3.30 only to be told the counters close at 2pm and I can't pay it in, even though there's about 3 staff members on the floor, I ask if there's a chute where I can post the money, oh no of course there isn't, that's too logical.Glad I carried a heavy cash bag and paid to park my car for absolutely nothing. Brilliant, just brilliant.

So hard to do business with. They have shut all the branches forcing you to have to go into town centre. Arrive at stated opening time (9.30) and despite plenty of staff about they don't bother to open counter until 11 so if you have cash to pay in you're out of luck. Staff member suggested I 'should be thankful that they even have a counter as other banks don't even have that'. So it appears that Barclays are happy to at least not be as bad as other banks.

Horrible service and pointless hours. A disappointment and hassle every time

Visited twice on consecutive days. On the first visit I was told they were too busy to help me and I should come back another day (after queueing). When I came back the following day I was asked to wait in the queue, and was then told after waiting that I should complete what I need to do online... I then tried this, and called the helpline, who were very helpful but told me it could only be done in branch!

Barclays? ?covid hours? do not contribute to the slowing of the spread of the extremely deadly Covid-19. (the hours do,however, meagerly give a thinly-veiled appearance that Barclays is ?doing their part? to curb the inevitable spread of an absolutely terrifying and all-consuming global pandemic threatening the existence of all humankind)Thankfully, these hours do at least help save the bank money on payroll expenses by cutting the hours of its hourly employees (which is done to save lives, not money, of course).Though there is no scientific support for these established hours slowing the spread of any disease, and despite the fact that all these hours really do is cram more people into the branch during the carefully/scientifically-established hours of operation (all while creating the added bonus of being a complete pain-in-the-*ss for customers), I am thoroughly confident that Barclays? executive board?s foresight and foundation for the basis of their decision making is beyond reproach and in the best interest of the customer (which happens to be their foundation of revenue generation..).I know this is crazy-talk, but, perhaps, instead of these life-saving hours, we simply wear masks in the building, use hand sanitizer, keep 2 meters apart, form a long queue outside the building to prevent too many socially-distanced people from being in the building at any given time and spreading this non-sensationalized and obviously dangerous disease, we get in, get out, get our business done, and do so until 17:00 in a way that helps prevent the spread of absolute death while simultaneously preventing the (actually, truly-inevitable) collapse of the economy and everything that comes with that collapse (that the government can?t fix due to their inherent inability to generate revenue). Just an idea.Covid, along with ALL its associated problems, is serious and requires serous thought, fearless leadership, and balanced decision making to mitigate ALL the deadly/negative aspects of this disease that we still know nothing about in terms of its origin and early stages of attempted confinement.Hope you find this review helpful!Cheers!
