Great service made very welcome as soon as we walked in, staff couldn't do enough for us breakfast was bang on point and only £6.50 was made extra toast no extra charge breakfast came with choice of juices and a cup of tea or coffee and we were given a large pot of tea on request no extra charge. all in all we loved the time we spent there even though it was just for breakfast.

Had booked an afternoon tea via wowcher. Tried to call them on several occasions to check the booking and even had auto redial on. 20 minutes later and no answer the line is constantly engaged. Looking at reviews probably don't have a phone plugged in or electricity. Terrible hotel. If it even exists!!

I made it very clear that my afternoon tea for two people was for one vegan and one person with intolerances to whole egg, nuts, avocado, and banana. The vegan had 2 sandwiches and no cakes. The intolerant one had 4 sandwiches and supposedly all the cakes, apart from the 4 that had nuts in. I won't even go into the standard of the sandwiches.

Visited the Indian restaurant in the hotel. I have to say, that whilst the food was very nice, we've enjoyed considerably better at a much better price in the same town. It's quite expensive for the area. Service was quite disorganised, too - a family group of 11, and we were still chasing up rice and naans half way through the meal.

Spent 3 days here recently and for what we were charged, it was far superior to expectations. There were signs up apologising for any inconvenience during renovations but we didnt experience any and the only thing we even saw was someone carrying cable trunking up the stairs to the room he was presumably renovating.
I gather the place has had some renovations done since the current owners took over and it was very clean and tidy everywhere, be it the bar, breakfast room/coffee lounge or restaurant. Downstairs toilet facilities were also very clean. Carpets throughout the stairs and landings were very plush and you could tell they were of good quality.
On to our room and we were very impressed. Again, very plush carpet that your feet just sank in to. Clean, simple decor and excellent facilities. Beautiful en suite with bath and shower. The bedding was of very good quality and seemed like it was brand new and the bed itself was extremely comfortable. We both had 2 very good nights sleep and felt very refreshed in the mornings.
Breakfast was delicious and appeared to be made to order rather than cooked in advance and then just plated up when needed. Speaking of food, our experience on the night we dined in the restaurant was just superb. The most delicious Indian meal we have ever had, brilliantly presented and exquisite to taste. The food was simply divine!
Now for the staff. We were made to feel very welcome by every single member of staff we encountered. Be they receptionists, bar staff, restaurant staff or the men doing the renovations. All were extremely friendly, pleasant,polite and respectful whilst remaining professional and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Overall a fantastic place, highly recommended and one we would definitely stay in again.

Superb location, value and service. We stayed in the grand suite and it was huge!The room was clean with good facilities, although there weren?t water glasses we asked for a bottle at reception and they were very helpful.The hotel has recently been taken over and it didn?t have a smooth operation yet, but everyone we spoke to was great and I?m sure it will get there in time. Our only complaint was that the bedding wasn?t that comfy/high quality.We also had a curry while we were there which was amazing!

Stayed Nov 2023. Hotel was incredibly cold and our room, a family room, was cold and damp when entered. We had no hot water no proper flushing toilet, and there was no central heating. The room had two electric raidiatirs and an electric storage heater bearing fixed to the wall. There was mould in the windows and on top of some switches. Our bedding was damp and we had to dry out our pillows next to the radiators. When asked about the issues we were advised there was a problem with the boiler and a plumber was being called. That never happened. When placing a complaint to the establishment direct I was advised there was a gas issue in a neighbouring property?..gas?.yet they still accepted our money and allowed us to stay. The whole hotel was under refurbished, which we understood yet was not advised when booking or prior to arriving, but the whole hotel was icy cold all rooms were the same. Many family members stayed with us and actually checked out early. £96 we paid and it wasn?t worth £20. The hotel could be beautiful, but stay away from near room 5 stairs looked to have collapsed, no ?caution? tape or ?do not enter!? I would never stay again.

Do not park on the hotel car park or you will get a £100 fine ! I checked my friend into the hotel which took ten minutes and I was fined. Outrageous !

Well... the rooms are cheap for a reason. Dated, run down... schitts creek motel anyone??Have the audacity to take a £100 deposit too... doubt you could cause £100 worth of damage.Only good thing is the location.This hotel is not befitting of the very pretty town.

Had some lovely food served for Mums wake , the staff were helpful and friendly and the refurbishments are looking good. We wish you every success
