We went yesterday for a browse. But the visit wasn?t very pleasant. Something has changed in the place which is making it feel? odd. Can?t even describe the exact feeling, but it wasn?t worth a drive (an hour). And then? we became a bit peckish and as it was 11am we went to Place to Eat. It was 11am so good 45 minutes before breakfast finishing. First thing, we?ve waited 10 minutes standing by the counter to be served/greeted. All the employees were talking to each other around, laughing and having good time. My fiancé asked for a full English, we?ve been told that they don?t have any bacon left. I?ve asked for rostis (?) with salmon, avocado and eggs. He had a toast with eggs and salmon instead. We?ve waited another 10 minutes. The wait was incredibly long.. We?ve ordered coffee and sat down. The food? Terrible. No flavour. Stone cold. Mushy. I never knew you can make avocado taste so bad. Overall experience wasn?t pleasant. Coffee was as well, bitter and sour, just not good. Tasted like cheap coffee from sachets or something like that. Not worth the price. Nothing was worth the price. We left literally after 5 minutes. I don?t think we will ever be back. We rather have 15 minutes extra drive and go Cheshire Oaks or Trafford Centre. At least we know now.

Was well looked after by Kanchana in the ? place to eat? cafe. She went above and beyond to rectify a problem. Worth her weight in gold an asset to your company.

After months of trying various places to buy a new television and being completely lost in the technology of it all we gave up. Today we were visiting Cheadle John Lewis and got chatting to a very helpful assistant called Muiz, he was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable and broke it all down so we understood everything. After chatting to him we went for a coffee and cake and then went straight back to him and bought the tv. What a lovely young man!

Called in this morning try to buy an air fryer, not knowing the first thing about them. Was served by Rose who was patient, understanding, highly knowledgeable and immensely helpful. All in all, this was customer service at its very best!

My visit to John Lewis Cheadle today was such a pleasure due to Michael in shoes/jewellery department.
He helped me with a return and a replacement pair of sandals.
He was pleasant, helpful, courteous and smartly addressed

Not enough staff to assist with enquiries or learn about products or product availability. Empty shelves (full price merchandise) , generally untidy and unloved. It's not hard to see why sales are on a downturn. Shame really.

My husband visited the beauty concession yesterday. He was looking for a particular product for me.
?Why don?t you google it? was the reply from the lady assistant.
Terrible attitude JL!!

Recently purchased a Bosch induction hob, oven and Miele vacuum cleaner a truly inspiring experience with advice and information given without rush or pressure to buy. I would especially like to thank Gordon who resolved a later potential issue with the Miele cleaner in a most professional and efficient manner.

I support cooperatives and shop here a lot. However, my experience is that this place has an aversion to helping customers of colour. I can never find anyone when I want to buy a product. When I do I am told they are serving other people or have to purchase from miserable people. I expect more when I am spending thousands.

A little tight for moving around. The aisles are no longer clear as the store continues to maximise use of space at the expense of customer experience.

A Rollercoaster Ride with John Lewis
Popped into the John Lewis store in Cheadle and had a lovely chat with a sales advisor. She was great, but the interest-free credit offer was only available online. So, off I went to order online. Got a text with the delivery date, but on the big day, no confirmation text! ?
Used WhatsApp to investigate. Turns out, after 7 days, there was another form I needed to complete. Found the email in my spam folder, filled it out, and waited another week. Still nothing. Back to WhatsApp, and now I see a direct debit set up. But wait, the order can't proceed! ?
14 days since the order, and no word on the cancellation. Was told I would have to re order What a ride! ? bought elswhere!!

Unfortunately I have to give this review based on recent experiences. This is my closest John Lewis branch and usually a pleasant if not just a day to day experience. However, I am appalled that the store seems to have no inclination as to the appropriate use of air conditioning during summer months. Walking in is like getting off of the plane abroad; it is uncomfortable and I might even say potentially dangerous for staff and younger/older guests. Again usually everything is perfect as the staff are fantastic but I wouldn?t expect any form of great service when they?re being subjected to this kind of temperature on a day to day basis. John Lewis please sort this ASAP as I won?t be returning in the near future if the temperature holds in the 20° range as it is just unbearable.

Just as a precursor, this review is not reflective of the hard working team at John Lewis Cheadle - their attentiveness and professionalism must be recognised especially considering the following.
I have absolutely no idea how it is feasibly and ethically possible to not have reasonable air conditioning during one of the hottest summers in recent memory. Are you intentionally trying to injure your staff and guests? This is not the first time I have been in this branch this summer to be met with unreasonably sweltering heat. It?s ludicrously cruel. I?d be extremely shocked if nobody has passed out from it. I strongly recommend that people hold off from coming to this branch until the well fare of their team start getting the urgent attention it deserves.
John Lewis do everything in their ability to address their employees as ?partners? so it only begs the question of how valued the ?partners? actually are when their health is constantly at risk on a day-to-day basis.
