“The Curzon is an excellent cinema experience for those looking for a more intimate screening. It has three small screens that give a wonderful retro feeling. The seats are a tad on the small side (for those with a larger bottom you'll struggle to get in and out with the small table trays in the way) and the leg room is less than ample. The seats themselves though are very comfortable and recline nicely without intruding on those behind you.

Your sound quality here isn't the same as the larger movie screens of the day, however it's still more than adequate and the surround sound works well. In some respects given the smaller room it felt more immersive!

All this seems to do an excellent job at attracting people who actually want to see the film they're watching, rather than playing on their phones or talking! Which has really put me off going to the cinema recently.

The lobbies are comfortable and quite lush. With two bars and plenty of seating (upstairs and down) and an outdoor terrace. The cinema advertised various screening types including dog friendly days, autistic friendly days, Alzheimer friendly viewings and a baby club. Memberships are also available but being a smaller cinema it's probably better for movie buffs as screenings will be limited.

Parking can be tricky with local multistorey carparks recently changing hands and charging insanely high rates, so bear this in mind. Local trams and busses will get you within walking distance.”

“One of the more spacious Card Factory shops. Most are very squeezed in and it's near impossible to get in and around with a pushchair or wheelchair but this particular store is a lot more accessible. So much choice of cards for every occasion you could imagine. Fantastic quality very good prices, lots of gifts to choose from too. Highly recommended this store ????”

“So today (16/07/2025) I popped in at opening time (09:30) to purchase a new needle for my record player. I happened to be £5 short of purchasing one. I spoke to a lovely chap on the till, who took me upstairs to the display only models, I told him what needle I needed, and he took one from the display models and gave it to me free of charge. “Martin and the team have been brilliant.I went into the Victoria bathroom showroom for the first time in September and we now have a new bathroom and shower room 3 months later. “My husband organised a 30th birthday party for me at Burton Hall at the Burton Street Foundation and my goodness what a venue! The staff were attentive and welcoming, they put on an amazing vegan buffet for us and the space itself was more than enough for people to boogie, sit down at tables or have some quieter space when needed. I'd highly recommend this venue to anyone needing to hire a space for an event!”

“I looked for some wall tiles at Porcelanosa several months ago.  The sales representative,  Paige was very kind and helpful.  She patiently listened to my requirement.  Then she recommended several stylish tiles to me.  With her great help, finally I found the suitable tiles for the kitchen and bathroom of my new home.  Sometime later, Paige reminded me it was time to arrange the delivery.  However, the schedule of my new home was delayed.  I could not receive the tiles at the moment.  I explained my situation and asked for some grace period.  Paige was very considerate.  She managed to make the necessary arrangement so that the tiles could be kept in their store until my new home was available.  Very impressive and thank you!”

“Really good service here. If you buy a matchpot you get the matchpot price refunded off the paint when you purchase the paint. They mix the paint to get the colour you choose. We wanted furniture paint for cupboard doors. We had the paint mixed and it is fantastic, goes on really well, great colour and lovely finish, looks great! Also the staff are very helpful and friendly. You get what you pay for with paint .”

“What a pleasure to deal with David, Richard and the team. They are a breath of fresh air, not only do they deliver a high quality product, they do so in a courteous and professional manner. Every trades person (plumbers/plasters/electrician) they engage is equally as reliable. We are thrilled with the high quality kitchen that has been designed and built for us. Not only is it very functional space, it has also created a very attractive room. We looked at kitchens in a few “DIY sheds” they couldn’t deliver what we needed in a quirky old cottage and the price difference wasn’t going to be much less. We also looked at other bespoke designers, who were more interested in selling us their favourite products, rather than listening to what we wanted. Whereas we have a high quality, well designed kitchen, installed by craftsmen, who delivered exactly what we asked for. Reputations are earned over a long time and David has certainly earned his excellent reputation. We have no hesitation in recommending his talented team.”

A perfect place if you are self-employed like a plumber or electrician for your work supplies.

“Decent shop, shame about the middle-aged Irish woman on the customer service desk with an attitude. Don't think she'd speak the way she does to customers asking questions about membership cards and click and collect in the way she does in front of management two weeks before a pay review, I'll put it that way.

Anything was too much trouble, sorry I don't understand how your membership card numbers and vouchers. Good job it's not your job to explain that to customers, make them feel welcome and be polite.. oh wait.”
