They allowed me to borrow the tools I needed to fit it, after I naively thought a basic ratchet set would see me through, as well as giving me some much needed moral support in the battle with my little french nugget.”

“Having had my vehicle initially botched by another repairer I asked the insurance to pass the work on my vehicle to another repairer.

I was allocated to Alton cars and from initially going down to have the vehicle assessed to collecting my car the service provided was top notch.

I initially went to see Richard to have a quotation made for the insurance. Once repairs were authorised customer services team got in touch with me to book in a repair date and organise a curtesy car.

A few weeks later I dropped of the car and got into my curtesy car which I was very impressed with, a 2025 Skoda Scala in pristine condition.

The repairs took around 2 weeks and I was kept up to date throughout with a call to let me know what was happening and where we were up to. On collection Richard and Tom were yet again professional and friendly.

I’m much happier with the work carried out by Alton cars in the past 2 weeks compared to the work of a previous repairer which took several attempts over the space of several months.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

After having a nervous breakdown at the local Audi garage I took my car into dinnington car testing centre and explained that my dash was lit up like a Christmas tree and had been quoted a ludicrous amount to fix. “I first came across St Mary’s Cars when I was learning to drive and my car battery died, I was stuck nearby and needed a jump. Darren went out of his way to come and help jump start my car and I promised I would return once I passed my test and needed a mechanic. 6 months later and I’ve passed and my car was due a cambelt change, i find garages really intimidating in general as I haven’t a clue about cars and paranoid im going to get ripped off ? but Darren was so lovely and fit my car in quickly, he did the work promptly and very reasonable price (I was quoted £100 more at Halfords) I’ll definitely use St Mary’s from now on!”

“Lovely man on the reception. Looked online for any appointments for a free repairs check as had some concern with an oil leak under my car- I’ve got no clue about cars, so thought I’d get it looked at for some peace of mind. Got booked in immediately and arrived, was greeted by a friendly man on reception who were lovely and told me that it could be a couple of hours. No later than an hour, I had a call back telling me my car was all ready to be collected! He explained over the phone any concerns and gave me a real peace of mind that it was all fine. Went to pick the car up and again, he were nothing but reassuring and really took his time to help answer any queries. Lovely stuff, will definitely be coming back to this Halfords again.”
