“The New Inn is an excellent pub, which I highly recommend! Nick the Landlord is hard working and friendly and his staff team are really welcoming and professional. The pub offers themed food nights, including a delicious Bangladeshi Curry Night on Thursdays or a traditional roast on Sundays. The decor is traditional, rustic and cosy throughout. There is also a beautiful dining area upstairs, in case you are seeking a more formal occasion with friends or family. The New Inn is conveniently located on the West Coker High Street and is within easy reach of large towns like Yeovil and Crewkerne. Accommodation is also offered at the New Inn, if you are seeking to explore Somerset or would like to arrange special events such as Weddings, Birthdays or Retirement dos! The pub hosts regular Skittles Tournaments throughout the year and there is a rather impressive Skittles alley at the back of the pub. If you are simply after a drink, Nick and his team know their ales and always ensure the ales are fresh, well maintained and in full 'flow' (excuse the pun!).”

“Like visiting 1968, felt like a time traveller! Super old skool- they should do tours or let it out as a film set! 1st class (tee hee) customer service though from a very jolly chap - maybe he was from 1968 too! Maybe it really IS a portal!”

“The new shop is amazing looks really good inside and out.Lot of new items great for the gin lovers I counted 6 different types of bottles. The outside is bright well lit and also loos great. They moved the post office to the corner where the packs of cans use to be making it more secure and looking like a village post office should.I would recommend a visit even if just to look.”

“With the trend towards mega-stores and even larger combinations, such as hyper-stores, it is easy for the customer to be distanced from management by sheer size of the operation or the speed of turnover. It is thus so refreshing to discover stores that still retain the friendliness of the proverbial "village shop". In a small-town post office, I noted a whole wall of historic sweet jars filled with an amazing variety of tasty morsels. On enquiry, I discovered, to my delight, that I could choose any combination I fancied they would be weighed out individually. Of course, I was like a youngster in a toyshop. Such "mini moments of adventure" enrich the day even the week!! If you are in that area, call in and find out about the warm welcome. Global Nomad”
