We happened upon this pub on the hottest day of the year. i had a beer but the other half wanted a coffee. After what seemed like the longest wait the bar lady came out to say that because of the heat all the milk had gone off but someone had gone to get fresh milk! Soon enough a coffee was served. Now that is old school service

Stellar pub, couldn't be a better local. Quirky, vibrant, plenty going on, varying food vans every weekend providing something different each week, good service, pool table, skittle alley... nothing to dislike!

Justifiably popular pub with an unusual central beer station, as pubs used to be hundreds of years ago, before they created bars to lean on. Two small rooms and a central flagstoned still room are inside, plenty of additional seating outside. Food is currently by visiting wagons. Good selection of beer and cider. Friendly staff and locals.
Also known as Eli's, after a previous landlord who's family ran the pub for more than 140 years.
