“The only improvements I would suggest to the Old Post office is to let people know in advance that they are going to have to navigate to a car park if arriving by car, and that they recommend Saint Julian's car park, I think it was called. We tried to find someplace to park ended up wandering around the extremely crowded and tight City, had to pay the 24-hour rate at another public car park. All was well though, the room
was fine, the breakfast in the morning was good, and walking around Shrewsbury is amazing and inspiring. The post office is wonderfully situated to walk from. I just wish more of these hotels had deals/passes from the car park or City to place in the windscreen and get a break on parking costs!”

“Stumbled down a side street and there it was. Liked the look of the place so stepped inside to take a peek. Lovely welcome from the barman, great music playing and Ozzie on the wall! Just had to sit down and order a gin and ginger to soak up the atmosphere. The owner chatted to us about the pubs history and again, made us feel very welcome. Would love to visit again.”

“Mike the manager here is absolutely lovely he makes you feel safe and has done everything to help my stay here be as stress free as possible.. being homeless and going through a very difficult break up its nice to have staff that work here being so supportive ?”

“It was a hotel on top of a very lively pub. Nice room and bathroom. Great service. It’s just that it can get noisy at night.

“Room was spacious and clean. It was surprisingly quiet, given how close you are to major roads. There is plenty of parking. Burger King, Starbucks and Asda express, and Dobbies Garden Centre are within walking distance with other shops and places to eat a short drive away.”

“Rooms: Great value for money. We could not fault the room, very clean, lovely quality bed linen and towels. Bathroom clean, warm and shower gel and hand soap provided. Tea tray with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits even had none dairy options in addition to regular milk.Amazing value for money and friendly, helpful staff we're the cherry on the cake.We will definitely return.”

Nearby activities: Interesting town centre, river trip is great so is the museum but avoid wimpy at all costs

Walkability: You don't need a car here

Food and drinks: Hotel is good but limited though breakfast is excellent”
