A really nice wee place with a good lunch menu and plenty of seating in the same space as a gallery/shop. The waiter made me affogato off menu, which always scores brownie points. The asparagus and lemon tart was nice but a bit burnt and approximately the temperature of the sun, which it would have been good to get a warning about ? Side salad was imaginative, not just baby leaves.
Be prepared to spend more than you expected because the shop side is full of lovely, tempting things.

A really interesting place is Tommy Tosh in Thornhill. Curios, books galore, local products and much more at the front of building and a super cafe at the back. Venison burgers are not to be missed! Good menu with home made everything, including soup, and a good variety of cakes. Easy parking outside.

A beautiful building, lots of books and trinkets on offer. Fairly limited choice on menu and drinks quite expensive - £3.10 for a pot of tea. Though the drink choices of tea and coffee are varied.

We loved this place. Lots of lovely shopping things to browse, lovely artwork to admire.
We only stopped for coffee and cake but both were beautiful and the staff were super friendly and polite. Overall just a really lovely experience

Good food in an interesting layout. With very good coffee and it's also dog friendly. Not suitable for wheelchair access. On street parking.

We came mostly because of the name 'Thomas Tosh'!! but we weren't disappointed. The homemade soup was gorgeous, the cheese scone was good too. Lovely place to amble as it has lots of local made products, soaps, candles, oils and pottery. Loved it!

We were down visiting friends in Sanquhar who recommended visiting here. We were not disappointed as the shop was stocked with an amazing selection of books, gifts, etc.
We enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee and cake served on the most delightful crockery which I purchased.
We had such a wonderful experience that we returned again today and I bought more crockery!!
I would just like to say that the staff (a young girl, a young boy and a girl from the kitchen) who were working today (01.07.24) were outstanding. They were so welcoming, friendly and helpful that if I could I would give them 10 out of 5!!!
Well done, guys!!

Regular stopping off place on our way south (or coming back)- great coffee and cake and lovely gift shop, always manage to find something quirky, my mother in law likes to do her Christmas shopping here!
Vegetarian options: The cafe has limited menu choices but caters for vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions.
Dietary restrictions: The cafe caters for those with dietary restrictions.
Parking: There is a lot of street parking around the shop, but it can be difficult to get a space nearby at busy times
Kid-friendliness: The shop has a lot of breakable - you would have to keep an eye on your kids at all times.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessible - there is a ramp, but parking is difficult and cramped and the shop inside is not easy to move around using a stick never mind a wheelchair.
