“Easily the best hotel we stayed at in Scotland. Beautiful grounds. The restaurant and bar are awesome. Cool hiking trails in the hills with amazing views back toward Skye. Leave the car in Skye and take the ferry across, you can walk to the hotel from the dock. Really great place.”
“Nice harbour view location in Portree centre, well appointed and excellent service. Twin room bed mattress could be better quality, same for bed linen, quite cheap feeling. Staff are very welcoming and adjacent bar is well stocked with local beers, gins and malt whiskies. Was awakened by pounding music coming from the restaurant area below the bedroom at 6.50am. Not the alarm call I was expecting. Concierge was concerned and would pass my comments to management.Only real drawback to staying here compared to other local hostelries is the price....”
“Basic but charming hotel. No lift so be warned, especially for tired legs after hiking on the island. The room was pretty small it must be said but was clean and cosy. Definitely could be more sound proof but didn't stop us getting any sleep! Decent selection for breakfast. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Very centre of Portree so close to everything you could need.”
“Didn't stay here or eat here but had a swift pint with the locals discussing the state of the area. No one batted an eyelid, just welcoming but not in your face. A true local pub.”
“This was a great place to stay on our Isle of Skye tour. The service for check-in and at the restaurant were superb. The room was beautiful, overlooking the bay. The included breakfast was tasty with lots of options to choose from. This is the perfect place in Portree.”
“We didn't stay here but I wouldWe came here to have dinner while in Portree after being let down at a different establishment in the towns menu. The menu was very diverse and loads of great choices. The girls who looked after us were brilliant having a chat and even helped us pick out a breakfast spot for the next day which we were thankful for.The food was great and plentiful and we will definitely be returning when on skye”
“Amazing hotel experience. Staff were friendly and open for questions and topping up hotel extras (coffee sachets, milk etc). Perfect location with amazing views if booking the correct room. The room itself was really clean and comfortable, everything you could ask for in a hotel! Really peaceful too.Only negative would be that the restaurant never seems to be open when it says it should be. Were told restaurant shuts at 8pm so we went down on our first night roughly 7.10pm and they were cleaning up and some staff were leaving the building. Same story with breakfast, closes at 10am we went down at 9am and there was not a soul in the restaurant to serve us - this doesn't affect my rating however as there is plenty of other places to eat around the hotel (little cafe around the corner called The Caledonian Cafe does good breakfast options).Rooms: Cosy and clean.Nearby activities: Old man of Storr is about a 15 minute drive away, loads of places to eat just make sure to book ahead.Food & drinks: Loads of food places around about, co op a 3 minute walk away too.”
“The service, staff and entire team were so pleasant and very accommodating long story our room wasn't ready and had to stay in a smaller one which they comp of course and discounted our stay due to the error. We were there for leisure and were pretty laid back unlike the other guests that were out right rude. Such a peace full of and beautiful hotel. Amenities were great add ons. Food was good and breakfast was included which was very nice”
