“Stopped for a bit of food in Pitlochry, and wandered up to a pub that seemed quiet but with people outside in the sun, spent 15 minutes standing at the bar being ignored (8 people) whilst 6 bar staff wouldn't even acknowledge our existence. We just walked out, and went to find somewhere else. Id recommend avoiding the coach house, its terrible, and ended up being a godsend, as we ended up finding a real gem
Ended up by chance, finding a busy place, the old mill inn. Not expecting to be able to get in, we waited to be seated, and within a couple of minutes we're shown to a clean table, by a very smiley young lady. Menus were promptly brought over and a drinks order was taken, and special off the board were spoken from memory, even though there were lots, and they were very well described. Just showed professionalism and care. Drinks were brought, all correct and to the right customer without need to ask who had what. Just a nice touch.
Most chose off the special board.
The food came quickly, just mains, no starters as we were not intending to spend all day in Pitlochry, which was great.
The food was exceptional. Piping hot, absolutely fresh, wonderfully tasty. Not a moral was left by anyone. Pleasantly full, but not over faced, and definitely not left hungry. Enjoyed it so much, we are planning a stop on our way back south, just to nip in for some of the other really appetising dishes on the menu.”
“A superb and beautiful hotel. The rooms were beautiful as were the furnishings throughout , food delicious and service very good. Highly recommend. Went there with my cycling friends who thought the same!”
“Beautiful surroundings, and the hotel inside was so lovely. The food wasn't up to expectations, having been presented with a plate full of skin-on chips full of black, very dirty skin covering my plate. We did not ask for this type of food as there was a choice of these vile skin on chips or just chips. No, we didn't complain, because the room was full and we didn't want to make a scene. Staff should be aware of people's choices when ordering food, and we certainly know what we ordered. Also, the choice with our fish and chips was a side salad, and I didn't want salad with that meal, but there was no alternative , which I thought was unusual as the meal was expensive for what it was. Of course, our meal was a big disappointment, not what was expected at all in a place like this. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful.”
“Had a great stay. Everything was perfect and staff were friendly. Good customer service. Very comfy bed and the food was amazing. Please ignore some of the bad reviews. Try Dunalastair yourself and make that judgement. Thanks, will definitely be back.”
“Nice lodge in peaceful area right on the river. Only 4 stars as major refurbishment going on so pool ect closed. But looks like it'll be great when finished. Narrow roads round site.”

“We stayed at this very nice hotel in the centre of Pitlochry, very good dinner and breakfast, we would recommend it, especially because of Matt's attentive and kind presence.
Not 5 stars because the wi fi for guests was not working.”
“Beautiful location. Just spent the night. Did not try out all the things they had on offer. Bit of a maze but the signage is good to find the rooms. It's a modernize hotel so the room layout a interesting.
Great breakfast layout.”
“Had the best roast ever despite the lack of cauliflower cheese. Big potatoes and Yorkshire puddings, which were delicious, would have liked more veg but it didn't effect how nice it was. Then we had sticky toffee pudding and the strawberry cheese cake for pudding both of which were amazing. Worth the money £70 with soft drinks”
