Lodging in Musselburgh, Scotland

“Some months ago we used 5pm to book carberry tower but did have to cancel. The very helpful staff told us to try again whenever we were able. We lucked out with good weather and took advantage. Using 5pm has made us aware of many places that we may have otherwise overlooked in Scottish dining and this is one well worth visiting. The afternoon tea menu was inventive and also varied, with many different flavours and textures instead of the same standard fare. Honestly besides gaining visibility the vouchers are unnecessary because the prices are more than reasonable. We've agreed to definitely visit again and see what else the kitchen has to offer so we can explore the lovely grounds. Many thanks to the boys also on waitstaff who were so cheery and kind.”

“Hotel was pretty much standard. The room I had was quite dark which meant lights on all the time. Restaurant was standard Brewers Fayre, cheap and cheerful. The difference being you were rushed through. On both nights I was there I had not finished my starter when the main appeared. Buffet breakfast was Luke warm even though I was first in.”

“I booked afternoon tea for four. It was so tasty loads to eat. Bit disappointed with the cake choices they were all chocolate try bakes. Think it would have been all the more special if there were little cakes or pastries rather than all chocolate. A pot of hot water with the tea would have been great. Putting all that to one side. It was brilliant value for the money. The service was excellent ?”
