“Absolutely loved the food at Edinburgh Street Food, ESF. Ate from the Scottish Street Food Sessions vendor. The food was tasty and fresh, and all the food was cooked to order, The staff were super friendly.”
“Absolutely lovely place to stay. Staff were great so friendly, helpful and kind. Made our holiday in Edinburgh exceptionally great. Thank you for looking after us so well. Fully recommend to anyone for a great stay in Edinburgh and the food was lovely.”
“Stayed here during the fringe festival. The location is great as there are plenty of buses that stop right outside and it’s not far from the city centre. The room had everything we needed and was clean and tidy on arrival. The pub downstairs was great, enjoyed a full Scottish breakfast the next morning. This was great value considering the price of hotels during the month of August in Edinburgh. Would definitely stay here again.”

“Lovely to pop in and have a wander before the store officially opens at 10.00.The restaurant was packed with lots of people having breakfast before going for a wander.Though very dangerous my pop in including leaving £42 worse off but with a bag of goodies I didn't know I needed (& my husband says I still don't....what does he know)Having that browsing time without hordes of people is a rarity in any Ikea.Easy to find, plenty of parking (& opposite Costco for fuel)”

“Love the premier inn. Please read about the food as I can't give a star rating for food.Food & drinks: Love the premier inn but you shouldn't have messed with the food menu I will not eat here the food is not great. Please let the pubs go back to there old menus when the food was edible now it's over cooked over fried and tasteless.”
“I absolutely loved my stay at Martin's Guest House. It felt incredibly welcoming from the beginning and my room on the top floor was very cozy. Thank you so so much to the owner for the warm welcome, the flexibility with the extended stay and the delicious breakfast. I think this is the best place to stay in Edinburgh and would highly recommend it. It is on a quiet street but with great transport links to the city centre, shops and cafes nearby, and fabulous views from the top floor. It will feel like a home away from home. I honestly did not want to leave.”
“Stayed here for one night in a SuperRoom. It was my first time staying in a Travelodge and I didn't have particularly high expectations. I'm glad to say that I overall enjoyed my short stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful, my room was clean and spacious, although incredibly basic. The bed, although a bit firm was still comfortable. The shower was fantastic, I know that SuperRooms have upgraded showers and no joke, it was great. The Wi-Fi, although it wasn't free was very fast which I appreciated. There was some noise both inside and outside of the hotel during the night, but it was to be expected. Breakfast was decent, maybe I would've enjoyed it more if it wasn't so overpriced. The best thing about this hotel though aside from the great room rates is the location which is right in the heart of the city centre and only a 5-10 minute walk away from Waverley Station which was incredibly useful for me. So all things considered, this is a great budget hotel. Would I stay here again? Yes, but I most certainly wouldn't stay here for more than a couple of nights. At the end of the day, it does the job and is a pretty good hotel overall.”
“The food was excellent to say the least. My only pitfall was getting caught up in paying for water. We were offered sparkling or still as soon we sat down. Of course we said “still” in a panic, not realizing we should have said TAP WATER. It was quite annoying when we were charged. I feel like they should express tap, sparkling or still water. Good way to get a little extra money out of you. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Some of the best burrata I’ve ever had.”
“Friendly stallNoteworthy details: Friendly staff, clean rooms, but they don't tell you this is where the put the homeless of Edinburgh, who on a Saturday night, you pay 140 a night, and they walk around in there pyjamas, and keep there TVs blasting all night”

“Spending a night here, room is clean and tidy, I had a meal in the cafe which was nice plenty of it and hot, the only thing I will say to charge £2.70 for a bottle of water is a bit extreme, I found the staff helpful and ”
“Stayed here in June on are trip around the uk from th e United States lovely place very clean and tidy perfect for the shops and bars as right on your door step along with the train station staff very friendly on check in would definitely recommend”
“More affordable than other hotels in the centre of Edinburgh and direct transport or cheap Ubers. Convenient and quiet room with great blackout curtains and lots of well lit mirrors. Lovely friendly receptionist who welcomed us at our late night check in. Room was let down by lazy cleaners - empty shampoo dispenser in shower and dust/dirt had collected. Lots of food for breakfast and well cooked. Unfortunately no gluten free toast or cereal available and we had a long wait to be seated. Quiet and pretty restaurant space. Would come again.
Nearby activities: Uber to beach, centre and Arthur’s seat. Very convenient location for price.”
“Great location between multiple tourist hotspot. Based on the price for the room it's quite a value, only complain is that there would be nice with somewhere to hang the towels and not just up above the shower frame.”
“Cheerful, clean, convenient - very close to Waverley Station and buses. If you can get at cheaper rates, very good value. Needs a wee bit more appreciation of accessibility e.g would help to have rails by shower and toilet. Staff helpful. Lots of shops and restaurants within short and reasonable distances.Walkability: Within short walking distance of shops, restaurants, buses and trains. Lifts to all floors.”

“I stay in a lot of Travelodge hotels, and this is one of the older ones. However, I always love the good service hereand staff have helped relocate my room to the ground floor on request. The location is great for Edinburgh. Outside the chaos of the city but an easy commute via the bypass to most of my sites. Its also fab access to the Pentlands for after work walks etc. Plus, the rooms have a bath. I'm always disappointed when I find my hotel room with just a shower. Even though it's right next to the bypass I've never noticed the noise much and always slept well here.”

“This Travelodge is bang in the middle of everything – a quick stroll to the Royal Mile and all the attractions. You've got pubs and restaurants galore, covering every budget.Getting in from the airport is a breeze with buses and trams stopping nearby.Checking in was a breeze, and our rooms on the first floor were surprisingly roomy compared to other Travelodges I've crashed at.The staff were awesome, super friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Thumbs up!Rooms: Our rooms on first floor were surprisingly roomy compared to other Travelodges I've crashed atNearby activities: Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Camera Obscura, St. GilesWalkability: Short 0.5 miles walking distance to Royal Mile and most of the attractions. “Staff is very accommodating, I booked a king bed room, and asked if I can change to a 2 bed, the staff helped us out. I truly appreciate that. Room might be a bit cold as it's only heated by electric heating on the wall but that's not a big deal. Heater does make an occasional small noise, if you are a light sleeper that might bother you. Overall I am very happy and I recommend this place.”
“Just a few minutes walk from bustling Haymarket along wide, quiet residential streets, this charming Travelodge is conveniently located and full of character, especially it's paneled bar and restaurant, and its traditional staircase. The surrounding area was very quiet and a good night's sleep in a large room was assured. Great value breakfast in the morning and super friendly staff. Easily walkable to the City Centre and sights of Edinburgh. This Travelodge has large family rooms, but also some single rooms too. I hope to return soon. A great find!”
“Hi folks, I was absolutely fascinated to discover the old Newington Lodge, in the 19th century, was the home of Amelia Hill, the second wife of the fantastic and pioneering Edinburgh photographer, David (Octavius) Hill, and close friend and fellow photographer of Robert Adamson....!! Amazing!!! Absolutely love their pioneering and ground-breaking photography!!! The 19th century was when photography all began.... and Scotland played quite a big part in that amazing story.... stuff like Edweard Muybridge recording movement in people and animals, for the first time.... amazing Victorian toys like kaleidoscopes, and amazing, but simple things, like flick-books, and the development of holograms, both in art, and in science... stuff like early negatives, - calotypes and daguerreotypes, that kind of thing.... early photos, like sepia prints, before black and white photos, were developed in the 20th century, and then colour photos, round about the '60's, of course.... the whole fascinating history of photography.... and everyone both amateur and professional, past and present, who has been recognised for their talent, and way with a camera, in all kinds of photography.... fantastic!!! Xxxx”
“Went to purchase new mattress at this store, parking was easy. Shop is well stocked and the sales person was very helpful and knowledgeable. Had got we needed and out the door within half an hour, fantastic.”
