“I absolutely loved my stay at Martin's Guest House. It felt incredibly welcoming from the beginning and my room on the top floor was very cozy. Thank you so so much to the owner for the warm welcome, the flexibility with the extended stay and the delicious breakfast. I think this is the best place to stay in Edinburgh and would highly recommend it. It is on a quiet street but with great transport links to the city centre, shops and cafes nearby, and fabulous views from the top floor. It will feel like a home away from home. I honestly did not want to leave.”

“Booked this hotel initially on the room price compared to city centre hotels. Still high in my opinion but thats sadly the times we now live in. However upon my arrival i was very pleased to find many parking spaces which was a relief. We were then greeted at reception by a very friendly and caring young man who gave us good information regarding all amenities, and also went into the bar to serve us drinks. We booked a twin room which was very clean and tidy. Bathroom was spotless and plenty of clean towels. Couldnt fault anything. Location is ideal and away from the busy centre, just a 5 min bus ride into town, or a 20minute walk. Overall we would definitely stay here again when visiting my son at uni.”

“It's good. I did go to Wetherspoons with an acquaintance for couple of drinks. The place is typical Scottish pub but has a hint of new age added to it 2hich is mostly due to young staff that work there.”

“Perfect place! We had an amazing lunch and it was truly a lovely experience. Staff is very professional, friendly and polite. Food and drinks were delicious. Location is both convenient and special, taking into account the history of this place. The atmosphere in a restaurant is magnificent. You can even imagine being a royal living in such a castle-type building. Thank you and I hope to come back one day!”

“This was a great find! Lovely big rooms and were spotless, and a tray full of tea, coffee & biscuits!! Staff were very friendly and gave excellent service! It's ideal for the buses going into the city centre. On the whole had a great night's sleep very quiet! Would recommend to anyone. The food was great as well.”

“Great location. Room was well set out and the bedding and towels were good quality. The grouting in the shower was mouldy and black, which other reviews have stated too. This is a shame and why I gave a 3 star room rating.The communal lounge and dining area is super and staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is brilliant value at £5 per person and there are takeaway cups available for hot beverages, which is a good idea. I noted that the food and drinks menu was very reasonably priced.We stayed in room.225 which was very quiet and peaceful being at the back of the hotel.I happily stay at the hotel again, when the grouting issues in the showers have been resolved.Walkability: Fabulous central location, we were only minutes away from many points of interest to us.Food & drinks: The menu is simple but well considered and competitively priced.”

“This hotel is 2 minutes walk away from the royal mile and about a 10 minute walk away from Waverley station. It’s in the area where the university and campus is but it’s a great area. Our room was lovely and clean. It was near a busy road but we weren’t disturbed by it. We had pizza and chips from the kitchen on the first night in our room and it was very tasty. We had breakfast on 1st morning out if 2. It was the normal pick your own out of warming trays. It was ok. We went out for breakfast on the second day! The bathroom was good but did smell a bit of urine! The shower was great. Hot and powerful. The staff were brilliant. Very friendly. We would definitely recommend it.”

“We have difficulty with stairs, and we were placed in the corridor with steps in the middle. I will use the hotel again now I know about the accessible rooms. I wasn't keen on food from the beefeater on site, for breakfast or ”

“We visited the Innkeeper's Toby Carvery Edinburgh West for a second time (previously visited a year ago). We love Innkeeper's Toby Carvery Edinburgh West - the hospitality, the rooms, the food. The staff was very friendly, exactly as we remembered it last year. The food was amazing, again as we remembered it last year. If we visit Edinburgh again, Innkeeper's Toby Carvery Edinburgh West will be our definite choice as the place to stay. “I take my 2year old grandson,initially to let him have a snooze on the way. We go for breakfast and one lady in particular is is favourite with him. Her name is Andrina. She's so nice and he looks forward to seeing her.”

“If you are looking for a cheap but wonderful stay this is the hotel it’s situated right next to the airport so easy to grab a cab it cost us £20 for a 7 seater the staff are wonderful and very helpful, the only thing I would say that is a not so great experience is that the wait time on an evening for a meal was a bit longer than we had expected but it was very busy so can’t be helped breakfast was help yourself and was more than enough to make up for the evening meals”

“Stayed hear for the Tattoo and Fringe festival.Could not be in a better place for exploring Edinburgh. Waverley train station right opposite,bars restaurants Castle all within walking distance.Had front elelevation view Of Waterloo place. Bus and tram service outstanding. Room was fine for a three night stay but can not speak about other rooms?If anything carpet could do with renewing. Had an email to say they are going to spruce up several rooms in the near future. Lift to all rooms. Would I stay here again,yesss.Nearby activities: ?????Walkability: ?????”

“The hotel was nice and clean, the room was perfectly sized and at the reception the guys were super friendly, we arrived at 2 am and they were waiting for us and did not delayed with any check in stuff. The only observation is that they charge for more than 30 min wifi, really weird in 2023.”

“Very Friendly staff, nice a clean room and all around, refills for coffee etc always out ready for you to take to your room if needed, really comfortable beds had a brilliant sleep, we really enjoyed staying here and we will definitely staying here again when coming to Scotland had a lovely long weekend away.”

“Great value for money. Great location for city centre with easy access to everywhere we were going such as Royal Mile and shopping areas. Clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. No complaints at all and have already rebooked for another trip in November.”

“A very comfortable repeat stay. Any problems are swiftly dealt with by staff with no fuss (extra towel, oiling the door hinges to the WC). The breakfast has improved since last year. Excellent. The only negative about our room (209) was the exceptionally creaky floor and ceiling. However, we will book again as it is well priced and handy for the station.”
