Amazing little cafe with the most incredible views you can imagine. The owners are so friendly and you can tell they really care about making the whole experience memorable. They even ask if you?d like to move to an outside seat to take in the view. The place is small, the parking is a challenge and you do have to wait, but the food and service more than make up for it.

After following the Boatshed online for many months, we finally managed brunch. Perfect location, we were lucky enough to sit outside, where the views are stunning. Staff were very friendly and food was delicious. The drive down to Loch Goil is also stunning but very narrow in places with passing places every few hundred metres. Well worth the trip.

Tremendous wee place right on the loch with views to die for with excellent staff on hand, had a typical Scottish egg an tattie scone roll and wife had toasted waffle with fruit and maple syrup which was scoffed and reported to be very scrummy, will go back definitely!

What a lovely place if you are going for lunch. We got a table outside and the vew is beautiful. there was 3 of us and we all has soup and toasties then2 cakes and a scone and with our drinks it came to £60 which at £20 each we thought was reasonable. We went on a Thursday and it was very busy. would certainly go back again

Great spot for a coffee with an amazing view. Unpretentious with great service. For those who live their life scrolling Tiktok and Instagram, you may see the odd bleamish. This is a small business not a Michelin star operation. Throw you phone in the bin and enjoy the view.

Visited the cafe after seeing all the hype on social media. The setting is lovely, however, the cafe is not worth the journey to get there. We arrived around 11.30am and there wasn't many cakes left but a member of staff said more cakes might be arriving but they never did. We were first seated inside and then asked if we wanted to move outside when a table became available which we did. I'm not sure if it's the toilet or the metal unit things sitting outside but something near the door smells absolutely putrid and really put us off. The food was just okay and unfortunately no decaf coffee available which isn't great for a cafe/coffee shop. The staff were friendly enough but they do seem understaffed. The cakes we had were lovely but these are sourced from elsewhere. Overall unfortunately we wouldn't visit again and wouldn't recommend to friends.

Was excited to try the cafe after seeing on Tiktok. My friend who was desperate to try it, had a birthday recently so we took her here for brunch. Was a queue out the door when arrived *always a good sign!* happy to wait so joined queue. There is outside access to a toilet, to which you have to queue pass, which wasn't the most pleasant but was fine. Staff were lovely sat us inside before finding seat outside for us. Now throughout sitting inside we were getting 'whiffs' of the toilet, but when we sat outside, it just smelt of sewage ? which was extremely off putting. How the people were able to sit near the bathroom is baffling as we struggled massively and we a decent enough space away from it. Toastie was nice, soup was ok, I think 13.50 was a bit overpriced for it to be fair. For each if us we were about £20 for combo, tea and orange juice. Views were amazing, lots of lovely bird feeders etc. Would I go back? No, it was a long drive to sit in the aroma of sewage. Can't fault staff, very pleasant and helpful!

I'm inclined to echo the other reviews of 'Dont believe the hype'. The view is stunning, but nothing you can't get in several other places across the Scottish Highlands. The food is mediocre, two toasties that were equally disappointing and the coffee was just alright. I was expecting friendly and warm customer service from somewhere so well visited on social media, however this didn't happen. Then a couple were seated directly next to, and facing us while they waited for a different table. I've never felt more uncomfortable and needing to leave. On the way out, there was 'toilet chaos' as there seemed to be no toilet paper to be found and a growing queue outside. I also got to witness some of the car park issues (thankfully we had arrived about 11am on a Friday so it was quiet enough to not be a problem then). But as it approached midday I could see the issues growing with people not parking conscientiously. I think this place is an Instagrammers paradise - great views for good photos but very little substance behind the filter and substandard customer experience. Very sad, because it could be so much more.

The location is second to none- great for those that like to Instagram! Food good and good value. Staff are confusing- one way in and one way out system but no signs to indicate this.

Dreadful experience! Obviously they were very short staffed on the day we visited which understandably makes it difficult running a business. However, there is absolutely no excuse for rudeness and shouting at paying customers. We had walked for over an hour and were looking forward to our visit having previously been the year before. This time was a completely different experience. We politely queued and waited as asked for a table to become available only to find someone else jumped in front of us and got seated instead. We did eventually find a table then moved to another one which had more room, before placing our order. This was when the fun began! A staff member, possibly the manager came outside and started shouting very aggressively at us. He was extremely angry and rude just because we had changed to a different table (even though our order hadn?t been given at this stage!) It was very embarrassing in front of all the other customers to be spoken to in such a manner. They are obviously more interested in their instagram and social media following than providing good customer service, otherwise the business would be unlikely to survive.

The cafe itself has nice views across the water and surrounding hills but that?s it. Menu very limited with basically toasties and teas and coffee, all overpriced. I get the impression everyone that goes here is more interested in uploads for social media than the actual food itself, as everyone that?s seated inside end up like meerkats peering out for the next available table outside, creates a very off putting experience. Definitely would not be back.

Had a great afternoon out here last week. We arrived around 12.30 and were seated inside straight away, with an option to move outside when a table became available. We opted to have our toasties (which were delicious) inside and move outside for cake and hot drinks after as the waiter explained the table was ours for however long we wanted. We sat outside wrapped up in cosy blankets taking in the views and enjoying our cake and drinks for a good couple of hours and were made to feel really welcome by Neil and his staff and not rushed at all. The hot chocolate and vegan chocolate cake were so nice. I realise the cafe can be really busy at weekends and holidays but visiting midweek let's you see it at its best and most relaxed. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Had seen other people post about here on social media so we decided to make the trip and we were not disappointed. We opted to sit outside in the pouring rain under a tin roof was perfect. Blankets are provided if you get cold. The cafe was really busy but staff were quick and attentive. We had the special toasties, all fresh and the cakes were so tasty. Would 100% return if in the area again the drive itself to the cafe was stunning even in the pouring Scottish rain.

We were staying at a nearby holiday village and went for a walk to have some lunch. We arrived at the boatshed and only had to wait 10-15 mins to be seated. One of the staff members spoke to everyone in the queue to let us know how it works inside, which was appreciated. Once seated we were split across 2 tables (2 x adults and 4 x teenagers) which was what the teenagers wanted. The menu is simple and uncomplicated, perfect for a lunch. Everyone got something they fancied and it was ideal. The view from the terrace is fantastic, but special mention goes to the staff. They were extremely busy and under pressure, but we're lovely and nothing felt rushed. We will definitely return at some point when we're back in Loch Goil.
