“I really enjoyed my stay at Sugar Boat. The room was well-designed, spotless and the bed was super comfy. The shower was great and there were some extra features like a kettle, a selection of teas, ground coffee, and two freshly baked shortbread cookies. I had dinner at their bistro with their soup of the day (red cabbage with sour cream), accompanied by crispy and buttery sourdough bread. At breakfast, I wanted to try their porridge and it was scrumptious. The quality of each ingredient was high, portions were generous, and the price was more than reasonable. The staff were kind and easy-going. I definetely recommend Sugar Boat and hope to return soon.”

“I come here about 6 times a year to visit family who live locally. I travel alone and the staff here always make me feel welcome and are consistently helpful and friendly. The rooms are always super clean and I have no trouble sleeping as I feel safe to just relax. The place is quiet inside and out. Some rooms have fantastic views. Not a luxury hotel but everything you need is in the room and if you dont see it ...just ask! Sometimes the grandchildren come to stay with me for the night as the family rooms are good value too. They love it and are always made welcome. Their ages range from 13 to 4 and they have all had a turn at visiting! The Commodore (the attached restaurant) serves good food and again they are good at looking after customers dining alone, families and young children.”
