My family held the wake for my father at the Cafe on The Mill in June 2025. Rosie and Barnie were generous, supportive hosts and created a very welcoming atmosphere. From Mill On The Fleet
Currently closed for the winter - reopening in March. Restored 18th century cotton mill on the bank of the River Fleet. Exhibition centre with core exhibitions on the history of Gatehouse and the Fleet Valley. Temporary exhibition programme. Regional arts and crafts, large second-hand bookshop. Tourist information centre. Café with beautiful riverside terrace. Activities for children. Admission free.
