Decent pub grub in a delightful Lowland village. Good portion size - tasty steaks and burgers.

We visited Gatehouse of Fleet and decided to head to the Masonic Arms for the Sunday cavery.
And what a great choice we made. Staff, service, and the food were great. There was plenty of choice at the carvery with upto five different meats available ( and you can try them all ) along with a good selection of vegetables and accompanying sauces and gravy. All you can eat, so head up as many times as you like. Great value. Nice light spacious dining area that leads out to a decent sized beer garden. I cannot recommend enough, and definitely will be back. The deserts were delicious, I'm actually surprised I had room to eat a desert after having two lunches.?

The service was fast, polite, interactive, accommodating, attentive, and familial feeling. the food was pretty good but could have been better and roast was a bit over done and seemed like it might have been reheated but it was there in a flash, it was rather expensive, but pretty worth it if your willing to pay that much. The environment was friendly, and had a pool table which was much fun. Overall has great staff and is a lovely place but good could be improved.

Nice friendly staff, burger was really good and fresh. Chips were hard and could have been better. But overall I would come back again, really good portions too.

Called in for some lunch. I had the cheese burger (£18) and my wife had the loaded fries (£12). The burger was nice and tasty a good size too, I was very full after. As for the loaded fries should either be a food challenge or just a sharer. Both were good value. The masonic Arms itself is a good pub that is dog friendly., and has a good range of drinks and food.

Very nice bit of fish, chips were a bit crispy though but excellent service.
Across from a location used in the 1973 movie The Wicker Man.

Had a burger, didn't even put a stick in it to keep the burger together (which is what your meant to do) after putting it back on the bar to which it was basically a full meal the staff looked at it and didn't even ask me if everything was ok I asked to pay my bill and didn't say a word. I had to tell them. No refund or discount and the bun crumbles and falls to pieces. You are meant to ask if everything is ok. I mean come on. For a burger that is £19 and the staff doesn't seem to really care. Oh and my name is jack moxon

A bustling local pub in Gatehouse of Fleet, visited as part of a large group (plus a dog) for a dinner during a recent stay in the area. We have been a few times having had meals in both the restaurant and bar areas and have had a great time every time. Although the pub is dog friendly, nervous dogs and puppies might struggle with the noise at times, particularly in the bar area which can get very busy.

We recently stopped for lunch and were impressed with the lovely traditional pub vibe. The food was reasonably priced and the portions were generous. Dogs are allowed which adds to the friendly atmosphere.
