“I volunteered at Shelter for almost 1.5 years and it was a great experience. I started for 3 months for DofE, but liked it so much I kept going. Everyone was always very friendly and helpful, and I always felt very welcome and included. Managing the shop could be very stressful, but all the managers handled things really well, and were always understanding about when I couldn't come in, etc. I got to develop lots of skills and my anxiety improved a lot after volunteering.”

I stopped by here to peek in the window over a holiday weekend and returned to grab a shirt that I saw and ended up purchasing even more simply because they were so helpful and the store is so impactedly kept.”

“Here, the advantages of having a charity shop located in the city centres are evident in abundance. Recent book releases, the odd tempting album even old football kits are there thanks to the more affluent donators. As with most charity shops, bargains are there to be found and this one is no different. What makes this one stand out is its healthy selection of retro games. I managed to find a couple of decent Gamecube gems amongst others. Worth a look.”

“One of my favorite charity shops in Edinburgh. Anna, the manager, is such a nice woman who goes out of her way to be helpful and friendly with a cheery word for every customer. On my visit yesterday, I was trying to decide which backpack to choose for an upcoming trip when an extremely rude man snatched one of the bags from me and said I'd had long enough to decide and he was going to buy it. I tried to reason with him but he was having none of it. I called out to Anna for help and she handled the situation admirably with tact and diplomacy. In the end, the man threw the bag back at me and stomped out. All in all, an extremely well-managed store busting at the seams with great quality, reasonably priced stuff. I'd highly recommend a visit!”

“Friendly helpful staff, access to premises is restricted to smaller vehicles, wouldn't recommend anything over 18 tonnes, as I was instructed to deliver in an artic, luckily small delivery so dropped trailer and put in cab, staff very helpful on arrival even offered use of trolley ?”
