“Been a service user here since summer 2010 and cannot recommend this place enough! The staff offer an excellent service and are always there whenever you need their help and support with any problems that you might face, i.e. having to renew a bus pass or helping with any issues related to disability benefits being just two things that they are great at, The facilities are in excellent condition, the pool table and PCs are of great standard and the people who come here in general are an amazing, friendly crowd!”

“Such a buzzing place full of true community spirit and amazing activities! Undertaking community projects and encouraging us to be active members in our area is a rare finding and glad to have moved to close proximity! If only there was an option for stronger coffee servings to kickstart our free mornings too. Which is a slight detail considering all that's on offer, thank you to the moon and back! The books from the Wee Library did a magical job for us too, massive thanks to all involved in The Ripple Project sticking around ?”

“I love you in here. But my only “moan” is they don’t have baskets (am aware they are a charity) but even something to put things in till I finish.. I saw lots I wanted but really just got what I could carry around shop to till.. I had 4 very very delicate glasses and had no were to put them so left the shop with less than I wanted to buy”

“Rita and Fiona were so helpful and absolutely delightful. they’ve got a wonderful selection and the shop was quite busy. I stopped by here to peek in the window over a holiday weekend and returned to grab a shirt that I saw and ended up purchasing even more simply because they were so helpful and the store is so impactedly kept.”

“Whilst I have not dealt with their head office directly, Shelter Scotland have been very helpful and informative in multiple stressful rental situations I have been in. They provide sound advice in challenging circumstances to make sure I know my rights and best course of action. Happily donated after my call, as I think they are a lifeline for renters in Scotland.”

“I have been looking for a wooden coat/hat/brolly stand for weeks and popped into Barnardos, Nicholson Street, Edinburgh. There were two in the shop that were being used but I asked if any of them were for sale. Kas, the shop manager couldn’t have been more helpful and to my delight sold me one. Wonderful service and greatly appreciated. Thank you Kaz ?”

“This is a great little store. very thoughtfully presented in more of a boutique style than some of the other charity shops in town. Staff are always lovely and helpful. Just got a great pair of Zara jeans for £7 last time I was in. Well worth a look anytime you're in Stockbridge”

“We have just had our wedding reception in The Merchants’ Hall and it was amazing. From our first meeting with Erin we loved the venue and she was so helpful. Erin made the whole process so easy and stress free, we couldn’t have asked for more. The venue also looked amazing, so many of our guests commented on how lovely it looked. I would definitely recommend The Merchants’ Hall for a wedding.”
