We visited Maxwell?s in Duns and were blown away! The food was an absolute 10/10, and the service from the staff was second to none. The vintage, soothing atmosphere made it such a lovely place to relax and enjoy a meal. We travelled up on a camping trip, but we?d happily make the journey again just to come back here for the food alone. Thank you for putting the cherry on top of our bank holiday!

An asset to a small town.

Tucked into the corner of Duns town square, this is simply superb. From the eclectic specials to the reliable staples, always a great place to have lunch. Busy throughout the year, it's worth booking if you are aiming for lunch. If morning coffee or afternoon tea, just stroll in. Service is swift and friendly. No fancy coffees, but you can get those anywhere; what you can't always get is what Maxwell's delivers in spades.

Called for a combination of cake and breakfast rolls whilst in Duns, the first time we've been in to this traditional little tea room. It certainly won't be our last visit as the whole experience was delightful. Breakfast rolls really tasty, scones light and fluffy with great home made jam, almond shortbread that had definite macaroon flavours and texture. Super friendly staff and very helpful with dietary restrictions.

This a fabulous cafe. We were well looked after by some excellent staff and served some amazing food. I had an amazing Pea and Mint Soup withan egg mayonnaise and bacon sandwich which was really flavoursome. One of the best soups I have tasted. I finished of with a very chocolatey brownie. I would thoroughly recommend.

Popped in here during a day trip from Edinburgh; what a great find this was! Delicious breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs and sourdough toast with coffee. Really friendly service in a lovely setting. Didn?t try the home baking but, having seen it, will be coming back to do so!

A delicious lunch- all homemade on site, including the sourdough, which was perfectly squishy with a crackly crust. Pure heaven. Fantastic service and lovely atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend a visit! I can't wait to come back

Been many times in Duns, seen this cafe from the outside but never stepped inside, until today..
Why I never ventured in, I know not why but I've been missing a treat and a half.
Food is fantastic, atmosphere is nostalgic and peaceful, even a grandfather clock chiming gently out the hour, such a warm, friendly and welcoming place.
Highly recommend, and now my 'go-to' place for a delicious meal.
