“We had a perfect dinner whith a stunning view on the atlantic ocean. The staff at Argyll Hotel was very friendly and the food is fresh and tasty. (Leave some space for the delicious desserts!). Also the breakfast was extraordinary whith vegan and glutenfree options. Our room was very clean and well equiped.”

“Brilliant (Sgionneil)The pros for the Carradale Hotel are: Great location for island ferries (we went to Islay and Arran), we loved the “extras” in the rooms (The fruit teas, hot chocolates and the Tunnock’s Caramel bars.), the rooms were clean, Rhona and Cara were really personable (asking us how did we sleep, how are we feeling, what are we doing, etc.) and they were very accommodating to one of our guests (who has coeliac disease – i.e. gluten free) making sure that there was at least one thing that they could eat on the breakfast and evening menus. The cons for the Carradale Hotel, would be the main road to get there is a 16 mile long single track road with passing places (it was nerve wracking the first time or so getting there but better after that), there was no WiFi but there was a very good 4G signal (okay for us but if you need WiFi...) and, when we staying there, the car park was shut because of an issue with Scottish water and the car park (we personally feel, looking back) could of done with signage.Overall, we would go back there. Rhona and Cara could of not of been any better hosts and we really enjoyed our time there. Happily recommend (yes even with the road and the car parking issues we had) and cannot wait to book there for our next Scottish holiday in a few years time. 4/4.5 starsWalkability: There's a big Carradale walk nearby if you enjoy walking. (A few signs about it around the village.)”

“Small hotel in the quiet village of Carradale, great place to stop. Lovely hosts, warm and welcoming. Rooms were lovely clean and comfortable with tea and coffee to enjoy in your room. Breakfast was lovely and with lots of choice from lighter continental to a full scottish breakfast which was delicious. There is a full stocked bar to relax and enjoy a local drink and the lounge was cosy with a fire, . The village itself is lovely to have a walk around and look across to Arran from the pier.”

“We were very comfortable during our stay at the Ardsheil. The room was clean and warm and a good nights sleep was had. The whisky selection is outstanding with something for every taste. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into it. My only criticism is the choice at breakfast. I felt it was quite limited and was quite disappointed not to see Loch Fyne Kippers on the menu. It wouldn’t stop me going back though.”

“ALSOKNOWNAS*THE BLACK SHEEP*This beautiful, old, and perfectly located hotel, is one of my favourite places to eat here in campletown. This has been the eoyal hotel for as long as i remember,At some point, the large downstairs has been split into 2 separate areas.a restaurant area, and then a small bar area with outside seating for drinking and / or eating if you choose.Dependong how much you like nice fresh often wet cold air and changeable Scottish weather! The fish and chips have never been anything but delicious, and I shall always visit when I'm in campletown. That being said,it could most definitely benefit with a bit of an update on the interior decor.inside is dated and makes it appear somewhat dingy and dirty even though it is not dirty.I understand that the historical period of the building may want to be kept. This can be done in so many creative ways these days.just old and indeed of bit of a paint fix and refurbishment.”
