“We loved our stay at chestnuts. The warmth of the staff is remarkable, making our one night stay one that we will remember for years to come. Food is also great at the restaurant.”

“My daughter and son in law had their wedding at the Brig o’ Doon House Hotel in June this year and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The hotel, the grounds, the staff, the food, everything was first class but I have to give a special mention to our wedding coordinator, Lynsey Watt. We were having a slightly different layout and she worked so hard to make sure it was all perfect for Nicole & Michael. Nothing was too much trouble for Lynsey, she was absolutely amazing and kept us updated throughout the day. Honestly can’t sing her praises enough!”

“The room was excellent and had nice partial sea views, The staff were very friendly, The evening meal was excellent, the full Scottish breakfast was terrible, different cooks perhaps, the bacon and link sausage was undercooked, the potato scone was rock hard and overcooked, I was asked what egg I wanted? I asked for a runny yoke egg, it was hard like rubber, my wife's vegetarian Scottish breakfast was similar, rock hard potato scone and her poached egg was like rubber. Such a shame, would I go back? yes if they hired a chef who can cook a decent breakfast.”

“Myself and my husband recently got married at Enterkine, and we had the most amazing day. Everyone at our wedding commented on how great the food was, how beautiful the room was, and how much fun they had. All the staff made our day run smoothly, and were so helpful from the very start of our planning. In particular, our wedding coordinator Sharon was a complete god send. Nothing was too much trouble, and I didn’t have a single worry all day. If I could go back and do it all again, I would in a heart beat”

“I have stayed at the Mercure quite a few times and generally find it is a very pleasant hotel to stay in. This time was no exception. I had a great room with sea view and the staff in reception and bar were very welcoming. I have mostly found this to be so. They are refurbishing the downstairs part but the gym is still open for guests. Its old equipment but everything works and for me in the Winter evening it beats trying to run in the dark along the beach. I am visiting Ayr in January again so will look to rebook. Remember it is a 3 star hotel so dont compare with the Dorchester or Savoy. For what I get for what I pay it is 5 stars”

“Excellent! Staff couldn't do more for you. Food was very good indeed. Location just beside main road made it very handy (no disturbance at all from said road).”
