“We first used this pub back in the eighties and we still go back there from time to time, even though we now live in Nottingham. It's like a little time capsule (in the best way), bringing back memories of the good old days.
That's not the only reason we go back time and again, over all the years the food has been fantastic and this latest visit was the best so far. I had a steak and ale pie with all the trimmings and my wife had a cajun buttermilk chicken burger. Both of them were beautiful so much meat in the pie!
It's a great pub in a great setting, if you're passing by pop in, you will not be disappointed.”

“Great place to stay the night. The food in the restaurant is excellent and there's a good menu to order breakfast from in the morning. Beer garden on a sunny evening is divine.”

“I stay here every few months. The staff are always very friendly, whether that be at reception, the restaurant or maintenance staff. The rooms are done to a high standard. Breakfast is great (though I miss the marmite soldiers which have been withdrawn!). Evening meals have improved recently and there is even a vegan menu though you have to ask for it. Very happy to come back here again, next time I'm in the area on business.Rooms: Variety of different rooms, some quite large, others smaller. All recently refurbished it seems.
